I purchased my 2022 Intuit Turbotax software at Sam's Club on January 7, 2023, for a total of $95.88. When I actually completed and filed my tax form via my computer with the software, I don't recall being asked about having purchased it elsewhere, and Intuit charged me $178.00 on April 13, 2023. I assume you will refund the $178.00 since I had already paid for my software. Thanks so much for your help!
Ok ... so you bought the program thru a third party reseller why did you not use that program you bought ? Why did you then pay for another TT program ? Did you actually buy another download or did you use one of the online versions? How long ago did you pay for each program ?
@billyboy2 After purchasing the TurboTax software from Sam's Club did you install the software on a personal computer and use the License Code provided with the software during installation? If so, did you complete and file the 2022 tax return using the software you installed on the computer? The only additional charge would have been $25 to e-file a state tax return.
Or did you go to the TurboTax online web-based editions where you had to access the online edition with a User ID and Password? If you did use the online editions instead of the software installed on your personal computer you would have been asked to pay for the TurboTax online account before the tax return could be filed. You would have been asked to pay for the account with a credit/debit card or pay the online account fees with your federal tax refund.
The TurboTax desktop CD/Download editions software and the TurboTax online editions are totally separate programs with separate price points. The License code is not used with the online editions, it can only be used with the TurboTax software installed on a computer.
You will have to contact TurboTax support for this issue. Use the key words Billing Issue when contacting support.
Note - If you did use the TurboTax online web-based editions to file the 2022 tax return there is a good possibility that TurboTax support will not cancel or issue a refund for the online account fees.

@billyboy2 Sounds like you somehow got into the Online version instead of your program. When you filled out your return and filed was there a black column on the left side with the menu items, Federal, State, File etc.? That is the Online version.
The Windows Desktop program is blue bar at the top and the menu items like Federal, State, Review, File go across the top. Do you remember entering the 16 digit License Code when you installed the program?
Refund for e-file rejected
@Caramorgan24 You do not get a refund for a rejected e-file. You can either fix the rejected return and re-file it, or you can print and mail it.
You received an email that we cannot see that tells you why your tax return was rejected.
Some rejected returns can be fixed and re-filed. Some have “un-fixable” reasons for the rejection and have to be mailed instead. What is the rejection code or rejection message?
If it was rejected for AGI—-your 2022 AGI might not be in the IRS system if you filed late. Try using zero instead.
If filing with zero is rejected then file again but select the option that you did not file last year. The IRS does not see that question and it will allow you to e-file with no AGI question.

If that does not work and you still cannot e-file, then print, sign, and mail your tax return.
I need a refund please I accidently used the wrong card
I have been trying to figure out how to submit a request for Reimbursement for an overcharge on my TurboTax Product. While filing, I started to use Live, but decided NOT to use the live feature. At the end of preparing my tax return online, I was charged for TurboTax Live. I did NOT use TurboTax Live and therefore would appreciate a Refund for the overcharge.

first time using TurboTax. We had issue with sending it kept saying transmission did not go through and your team said it did not give error message. We call IRS they said everything on my end with my EIN number was good. I would like to get a refund Please.
