I am in a similar situation. I bought the premier version from Costco. It cannot auto adjust ESPP/RSU. But then I went to the online (which I used every year) it adjusted the ESPP/RSU.
If you bought the program from Costco and it didn't function as required, you will have to return it to Costco for a refund. They sold it to you and are the only ones who can giver you a refund.
TurboTax online has no way of knowing that you paid for a desktop program - when you prepare and file your return with TurboTax online, you must pay for that service at that time.
As @mesquitebean posted above, "If they won't, you can use this online refund request form. However, you would need to mail the CD and copy of the receipt to TurboTax as instructed at the page How do I request a refund for my TurboTax product?

yep this is double dipping and is illegal!
paying for 2019 turbo tax on line and paying the file fee only to have return rejected. Then Turbo Tax removes prior year after oct 15 and due to circumstances the return was not able to be completed before Oct 15.
`now have to download and correct the return manually. Only to have TurboTax require payment again for TurboTax and for a multiple state.

TurboTax makes you pay for the download version you already paid for on line.
Turbo|Tax makes you pay for multiple state download version you already paid for on line.
Call TurboTax Support [phone number removed] and request a no charge TurboTax and multiple state download, if multiple state applies. TurboTax will probably try to charge a shipping fee as well.
If you run into issues with no charge, send a complaint to the State Attorney General `office.
THE SOLUTION IS TO NEVER EVER USE TURBOTAX ONLINE PRODUCTS. Something goes wrong and you are unable to timely remedy, you get double billed for the product for the year. Once online and then again when you now have to download the product and correct a completed but rejected return.
@DaleE You are confused or misinformed. If you prepared a 2019 return using online TurboTax and PAID for the online software, you will be provided with a download of the CD/download software if you need it in order to change/edit your 2019 return. Customer support will give you the download. Then you can finish preparing the 2019 return and print, sign and mail it. E-filing has been closed for 2019 return since October of 2020--by the IRS.
If you need to add another state or upgrade to a different version of the software to complete your 2019 return, that is a different story---then you have to pay for the extra state(s) or the upgrade.
If you have any changes/corrections at all to make to your 2019 return, you now have to complete it using desktop software, which you must download to a full PC or Mac (not to a mobile device).Then you need to print, sign and mail it.
If you already paid for your online software you can ask customer support for a download of the desktop software.

Your 2019 return was not removed----you have to access it by using the right account and user ID:
You have to access your own account and/or print it for yourself using exactly the same account and user ID that you used when you prepared the return.
Many people have multiple TT accounts and forget how to access them. Log out of the account you are in now.

well @xmasbaby0 champ. If that was the case and I downloaded the 2019 rejected online return, selected to file by mail and got the desktop download of the software, it appears to me when the second state return is requested for download upon opening in turbotax. the software would recognize the online filing had a second state and not attempt to charge again for the second state with no work around other than delete the second state to even load the tax forms in 2019 TurboTax Desktop software.
Very poor implementation of the process don't you think. I digress but This kind of stuff is the reason i got frustrated and stopped beta testing for TT. Same issues year after year never fixed. Thank you. Rather than being able to finish this evening now i will need to wait until tomorrow and see if i can get a work break to call support.

Each tax year is a separate TurboTax program. You would need to use the TurboTax 2020 program to complete the 2020 tax returns.
