I’m getting the same error message. Did anyone confirm that it is correct when it asks you to resubmit? This is what mine shows.should I answer the questions and submit them?

Sometimes until the IRS starts processing your return the Where's My Refund site may not have any information about your return or it may tell you that you haven't entered your information correctly.  As your return moves through the system the status will be updated accordingly. Keep checking the Where’s My Refund?  site for updates. The IRS updates the site daily, usually in the overnight hours. Also, make sure you are entering the exact amount of your tax return refund (not combined with your state refund), your tax return filing status, and your Social Security number when tracking your refund. If you previously had a status on WMR check back later as high volume can cause an issue of the tracking site giving incorrect status results. You can also call the WMR Hotline at 800-829-1954 for updated status.

Unfortunately, the IRS is experiencing delays in the processing of returns due to a later than usual start to the tax season, a backlog of mailed returns, current tax season returns, and the current round of stimulus payments. Please see this post here byToddL99 for further explanation of why returns are delayed.

Just to update here from a previous post of mine.  2/12 filer and accepted on 2/12.  I noticed about 5 days ago that my transcripts were updated to finally reflect they received my return.  This morning the Where's my Refund tool FINALLY worked for me.  The excuses given in the notes said my return had errors that reduced the amount of my refund.  I THINK this is because I claimed the third stimulus which I hadn't received (and since have but not yet cashed) when I filed.

As I mentioned before I am fortunate not to "need" my refund because it's really small.  My main concern was the fact that the IRS was showing that I hadn't filed.

Anyway- for others- keep checking.  Hopefully it will update soon.

Because on my transcript it shows no return filed for 2020...which means its just in the IRS database in lala land somewhere stuck where no one is actually processing it so I still haven't received my refund...and I can't get ahold of anyone with the IRS on the phone for them to check why this has happened and after looking online, I am not the only one this is happening to..

TurboTax does not receive updates on your refund status after your tax return has been accepted by the IRS.

Please see this additional information from our expert @ToddL99 on why your tax return refund may be delayed: Refund Delay.

Individuals can call the IRS at (800) 829-1040, Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. your local time. Call early in the morning and not on a Monday or Tuesday.

Here are some tips when contacting the IRS:

  • First choose your language
  • Then do not choose the first choice regarding REFUND, or it will send you to an automated phone line.
  • Instead, press 2 for personal income tax questions.
  • Then press 1 for form, tax history, or payment.
  • Then press 3 for all other questions.
  • Then press 2 for all other questions to be transferred to an agent

Please see this TurboTax FAQ on what to have ready before you contact the IRS: What do I need if I call the IRS?

If you haven't filed, registered or paid you can try to clear and start over
https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/using-turbotax/help/how-do-i-clear-and-start-over-in-turbotax-onli...

Or if it doesn't let you clear and you haven't paid or filed you could just start a new account. Online is only good for 1 return per account. But you can use the same email address for 5 accounts. How to start another return in the Online version

DO NOT REFILE!!!!! The same **bleep** happened to me and come to find out between taxes combined I wasn't taking to the fact of the turbotax fees. After further investigation I found out that I was putting wrong amount in and that was what was throwing it off. Do not REFILE it will screw up everything if you do and may end up waiting until 22 for your refund.  Check it out on tt and then add correct amount as I'm willing to bet my refund that's what it is.  Like I said same happened to me. Lmk if this helped.

I filled my tax return on 3/4.  Finally got it approved last Friday.  My refund was adjusted.

If you wait this long for it to approve, chances are your refund will be adjusted.

Just be patience because there is no other way around it.
