Why can't I access my old returns without paying you greedy little bastards more money? It is stored on your garbage servers and takes absolutely nothing to access. The fact you demand money to access returns is so absurd that I hope your company burns down. I recommend to anyone to use quite literally any other platform (e.g. credit karma) to file their taxes that isn't so derived off of taking a fat dump on their customers. I believe I have seen better customer service from companies like Comcast than I have here. You can't even call the company to ask questions without buying into their garbage premium service.
You are a trash company, and you should feel bad if you work for this company.
You are bad people, I don't like you.
You'll need to sign in or create an account to connect with an expert.
Being frustrated is justified when you're looking for something you can't find. I completely understand.
Thank you to everyone on this thread for sharing your wisdom on how to access your returns. Like @xmasbaby0 said, it's common for people to have multiple accounts so you might have to test out multiple options.
Here's where I was able to download mine:
You can also access information from accounts.intuit.com and learn about Intuit's dedication to privacy here.
I hope you're able to find your return. If not, send me a private message and I'll do my best to help you where I can.
Well....you misinterpreted something.and are ranting for no good reason. You do not have to pay to get your old returns. But you do have to use exactly the same account and user ID to access them.
Many people have multiple TT accounts and forget how to access them. Log out of the account you are in now.

Or did you use the desktop version of TurboTax? If so, the files are on your own hard drive or any backup device you used like a flash drive.

To get a copy of your previously filed returns prepared with online TurboTax https://ttlc.intuit.com/questions/1900748-how-do-i-get-a-copy-of-a-return-i-filed-in-turbotax-online
You are wrong. I have one account and I am able to access it, so riddle me that, smart boy. It clearly states on the website to access returns 2 years or older you have to pay.
Well I just downloaded the PDF for my old 2015, 2014 & 2013 returns on an account where I used the FREE option so I don't know where you are having issues since they took away the payment requirement. So log in and scroll down ... if you are still having issues contact TT support tomorrow. And going forward be smart enough to save the PDF when you file the return so you are not in this position in the future.
Please use the following link to contact Customer Support for further assistance.

I hope you know that this is a public forum made up of other users like yourself. Nobody that posts here is a TurboTax employee or has connections to TurboTax, we post to offer help to TurboTax users as volunteers. If you have a complaint then contact TurboTax.
We can only offer advice but it you don't like the advice then go complain and rant somewhere else.
Stay mad, this company and website is garbage. Taxes weren't filed in 2019 though TurboTax so the site had an absolute conniption throwing me into every payment plan possible and demanding the 2019 taxes were filed before anything could be accessed.
You aren't a moderator, and due to the atrocious methods available in contacting this company, I will gladly share my experience here for other users to see. There is a multitude of issues surrounding TurboTax and their yearly movement towards a "**bleep** you" policy, sucking up to them because you believe my complaint is invalidated due to the platform of this forum and nature of what I posted is moronic.
Tax records can be easily enough found through the IRS website, which after hours was the only option left given to me by them as the company could not assist in figuring out why their website could not stop asking me for a payment plan.
Can you post a screen shot of where it says you need to pay? Maybe we can tell you another way to get a copy. Or where you should be logging in. Maybe it thinks you want to start a 2019 return.
Millions use the program without issue ... so I believe you are lost in the process. So log in from this page :
... then scroll down and choose the years you want ... as you can see I did not complete the 2019 return this year either in my test account (see other screen shot) . At no time was a payment required.
If you still need to contact TT support :
Use this phone number and select TurboTax - 1-800-4-INTUIT (1-800-446-8848)
Or –
Use this website to contact TurboTax support during business hours - https://support.turbotax.intuit.com/contact/
Or –
Support can also be reached by messaging them on these pages https://www.facebook.com/turbotax/ and https://twitter.com/TeamTurboTax
Or get them from the IRS...
Go to this IRS website for free federal tax return transcripts - https://www.irs.gov/individuals/get-transcript
For a fee of $50 you can get a complete federal tax return from the IRS by completing Form 4506 - http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/f4506.pdf
As stated, I already contacted them and they had stated there is an issue on their end where it is unable to provide my previous returns. They told me to go to the IRS site to get them as they were unable to provide it through means of using their website. Seems like the corporate greed setting was turned on for my account by accident, needed that plus service in order to continue properly ;(
Maybe you just have to wait. Online is closed right now as they get ready for 2020. After Online reopens you can probably access prior returns. But if you need a copy right away you can try the IRS.
Of course some this blame you are handing out is totally of your own making because YOU did not save a PDF or paper copy of YOUR return when you filed them. Instead you choose to hope that access would be available in the future at a moment's notice. What if Intuit went out of business ? Or had a major sever meltdown ? If Intuit says there is a glitch and access to your return is not available you can see the wisdom of keeping a copy yourself just like we all used to do when we paper filed.
Being frustrated is justified when you're looking for something you can't find. I completely understand.
