I followed your instruction and it didn't work.
Is there any other solution to this problem?

It sounds like a simple fix--HOWEVER--It takes a couple of hours to meticulously go through the library file to delete everything and restart and reinstall the software. This is NOT a permanent fix as a two days after my reinstall the problem started happening AGAIN!!! I had to uninstall and reinstall twice. The second time I did not shut the software down until I was all done with my taxes so it wouldn't "Update" and develop the problem again. It would be great if TT actually FIXED the problem instead of telling us about this band-aid solution. I wasted about 5 hours in total trying to make it work. I'd love for you to arrange for me to get a refund for this product!

Hi Katrina, I completely agree with you. This is a workaround to a known software bug/defect. I had to install a separate user on my Mac with admin privileges to get the software to work. It is extremely inconvienient and cumbersome to have to switch between user to access TT. The uninstall did not work for me, but perhaps I missed a hidden file. TT support never tried to uninstall the hidden library files, and their quick uninstall never ever solved the problem. I would like a refund too. Maybe if enough of us demanded refunds, TT would actually fix the problem. I'm extremely dissatisfied with TT.
I would say you probably missed taking out all of the listed library files. It can be hard to find them all. Make sure to delete all the listed library files once you have taken them all out. Try it one more time and if it doesn't work you can always use the online version. There is no other fix that I know of. If you call TT and explain the problem they might even give you a free state file for your trouble. This problem also occurred in last year's version, so you would think they would have fixed it by now. Anyway, good luck!

I am on the latest version of Mac O/S and this procedure worked for me today (3/13/2022).
https://ttlc.intuit.com/questions/1901210-remove-uninstall-turbotax-for-mac
TT2021 no longer crashes! I was able to update the software and finally get to the point where I can enter the license #.
Hopefully no crashes here after.
We are glad to hear you were are able to get your product updated and you're up and running.
I finally tried what macuser_22 suggested instead of trying the full uninstall, which had not worked for me. Using his solution, deleting: ~Library/Caches/KSCrash/TurboTax
Thank you Macuser22 and ScrapMax on the apple support group.
I'm seeing the same behavior, but even after trying the solutions mentioned to fully uninstall/re-install TurboTax is still crashing for a normal user. Admin seems to run, but I don't want folks running as admins! Normal user had been running before just fine, then something changed.
Followed this process: CommunitySupportTurboTaxGet startedInstall or update productsRemove and reinstall TurboTax for Mac
Every time a normal user tries to run the program, a crash log is created in:
/Library/Logs/com.intuit.turbotax.2021.2022-03-19_19-27-05-7980000.log (or similar with the date part changing)
This is the tail end of the log showing the failure causing the crash:

@BrianM_2021
I spent 2 plus hours on the phone with them yesterday and getting nowhere. The call was escalated three levels to only end up with a support person who didn't even know about Macs. The final result was being given the answer that you must run as root (Admin) even though for years you didn't need to do so for TurboTax. Not to mention that for the last 2 weeks TT21 worked just fine on the system in question.
Any competent Mac (or Unix) programmer will know that having to run as root is a totally unacceptable answer for any program other than System administration tools. It is a critical system security risk! I posted here hoping to get an answers from someone who might at least be knowledgeable about Macs.

TurboTax for Mac has always required administrator rights.
Admin rights for INSTALLATION, not for running, and that makes sense to need it to install. Check minimum-system-requirements-for-turbotax-mac-software and notice it specifies nothing about Admin requirements to RUN the software. And until just this last week, it ran just fine without Admin rights. Something has changed and broken it.
Did you try to remove just the one file in the Mac library? I posted detailed instructions yesterday in this thread to just remove the file: ~ library/Caches/KSCrash/Turbotax
I struggled with the problem for weeks--see my earlier posts. The complete uninstall did NOT work for me.
I had created a 2nd user account with admin privileges as a very very inconvenient workaround. However, by deleting this single file, my TT21 Deluxe launched fine on my primary user account. Good luck!
No, I have not tried that. I had tried removing everything related to TT21 in the ~/Library paths though. Interesting!
Looking on the system, I find that ~/Library/Caches/KSCrash/TurboTax is a directory, not a file like you stated, so I removed the directory and the sub-dir contents. And..... It WORKS!! TT21 running as a user level again! Thanks!!
