I need help to correct rejected tax return
You received an email that we cannot see that tells you why your tax return was rejected.
Some rejected returns can be fixed and re-filed. Some have “un-fixable” reasons for the rejection and have to be mailed instead. What is the rejection code or rejection message?
If it was rejected for AGI—-be aware that many 2019 returns took so long for the IRS to process that your 2019 AGI might not be in the IRS system. Try using zero instead.
If filing with zero is rejected then file again but select the option that you did not file last year. The IRS does not see that question and it will allow you to e-file with no AGI question.
Or—-if you filed as a “non-filer” just to get the stimulus check on a 2019 return, try using $1 as the AGI.

If that does not work and you still cannot e-file, then print, sign, and mail your tax return.
Hi neighbor! I am in Fort Wash area of PA and share a bit of a similar life experience with you. Was physicist/engineer, trainer, CLU, ChFC and financial advisor for past 40+ years. Thanks for your kind response. I have Home & Bus 2020, as well as previous years, installed on an updated W10 pc and had been running TT fine but I am now no longer able to start any of the programs crashing at the start. I get "Turbo Tax - Error Looks like we've run into an error. We're sorry but we need to close Turbo Tax ..." I am clueless as to what to do, other than perhaps uninstall the W10 updates that happened since I last ran OK. Help or suggestions will be very much appreciated

Are you on Windows or Mac? If you can't install the CD you can get a download.

There should be a card in the CD case that says how to download it and you will need the 14 or 16 digit code from it to enter.

Where did you purchase the TurboTax CD for tax year 2020? There is nothing encrypted on the CD when installing.
