I swear that I did not hit "Submit" on an earlier draft of my taxes, but it shows that I have now submitted my taxes twice - one where I owed $990, and one where I was due over $5K. Both "submitted" the same day.
Did you change the "Submit" screens in TurboTax? I have used your product for 10+ years, and for submitted the taxes, it also verified 2-3 times before actually submitting. I had no intention of entering the first one.
What do I do now? Btw, I paid for Audit Defense - will that help at all?
After you hit the submit button you should get an accepted or rejected email. You cannot possibly submit a return twice so if the first one is accepted then you must wait for the IRS to process that return before you file an amended return. So check your emails for the status.
I just did the same thing so i should not panic it still should go through.
You can't file your return twice, the second one will be rejected by the IRS.
I wanted my quote from H&M’s block and I accidentally filled it but also filed it with another place what do I do
I filed the other place first
One of the returns will be rejected, if your return from H&M Block has already been accepted, then the one you filed with TurboTax will be rejected. Two returns with the same social security cannot go through the system.
"bluedeb Level 15"
Ok how do u find out which one was accepted.I started with turbo tax but then found out my CashApp does taxed also so I did that because turbo tax wasn't finished but now I'm getting that both on both have been rejected how do I fix this???
If they both rejected then just fix one and efile it again. Why did it reject? the most common reason is the wrong 2020 AGI.
ENTER 0 FOR AGI. The IRS took a long time last year to process 2020 returns so the AGI didn't get entered in time. Especially if you mailed it. Thats works for most people. See...
What if I entered the correct AGI and I'm still getting an e-file reject?

If you can’t get it to efile you will have to print and mail it.
How to mail a return from the Online version
How do I print and mail my return in TurboTax Online?
Be sure to attach copies of your W2s and any 1099s that have withholding on them. You have to mail federal and state in separate envelopes because they go to different places. Get a tracking number from the post office when you mail them for proof of filing.
How to fix rejects IND-031 & 032
How do I fix e-file reject IND-031-04 or IND-032-04?
I filed with turbo tax but I didn't finish it so I went to my Cash App and filed through it used my social security number but now it's saying that they have both been rejected because of the same social security number but its not Identity theft or anything like that so how do I fix this or cancel one of them???
Oh that might be different. Maybe someone claimed you as a dependent? Or accidentally used your ssn on their return. It could be just a mistake. You will have to print and mail your return this year. Or are you a dependent?
Unless one of your returns did get accepted. For Turbo Tax, If you used the Online version you can check your efile status here
https://turbotax.intuit.com/tax-tools/efile-status-lookup/
When you efile you get back 2 emails. The first email only confirms the transmission. The second email says if the IRS (or state) Accepted or Rejected your efile. And check your spam folder for them.
When you log into your account you should also see the status and if it was Accepted or Rejected, Started, Printed, Ready to Mail, etc. What does it say?
I accidentally filed my taxes twice what do i need to do about this

An e-filed tax return cannot be filed twice. The second return will either be rejected by TurboTax or the IRS.
Did you e-file your tax return and was it accepted?
Only the IRS and your State control when and if a Federal or State tax refund is Approved and Issued.
You complete your tax return by finishing all 3 Steps in the File section. In Step 3, to e-file your tax return, you must click on the large button labeled "Transmit my returns now".
After completing the File section and e-filing your tax return you will receive two emails from TurboTax. The first email when your tax return was transmitted and the second email when the tax return has either been accepted or rejected.
Note - Once a tax return has been Accepted by the IRS or a State, TurboTax receives no further information concerning the tax return or the status of any tax refund. Only the taxpayer listed on the tax return can obtain the status of a tax refund or a tax return.
To check the status of an e-filed return, open up your desktop product or log into your TurboTax Online Account. You can find your status within the TurboTax product.
If accepted by the IRS use the federal tax refund website to check the refund status - https://www.irs.gov/refunds
If accepted by the state use this TurboTax support FAQ to check the state tax refund status - https://ttlc.intuit.com/questions/1899433-how-do-i-track-my-state-refund
I file my taxes 4 times, 3 times rejected plus each time I filed it charged the account each time on the amount I owed, over $1000 was deducted out of my checking 3 times - How do I get my money back?
I originally filed with H&R Block but do to a software error or glitch my taxes got stuck in limbo and I couldn’t get to the last step and file. It kept saying your taxes are ready to be signed and then the error would say something is wrong, signing completed but never the e-file. It was a week issue for some with no updates or any information so I came to turbo tax and filed and they are pending. I just received an email from h&r stating the irs accepted my return… I see where you guys are saying the turbo tax one will be rejected but my concern now is will my taxes be delayed because of this and what do I need to do? Should I call and let them know what happened so they don’t see it as any kind of fraud?
