My name is Linda [PII Removed],, I have uysed your  online product to file my taxes... we have tried twice to e-file  2022 taxes,,,twice it returns for error in my Fed EFpin. I entered the new pin on first filing, your program did not accept.  so entered old number it went.. tax returned. for invalid pin *. secont I entered the new pin the system dropped a number -- returned invalid  spouse pin.

Now tell me how I can fix this on my own--- As far as I can see I can not..

Thanks for making an adjustment in your line item to hold more numbers..

Are you trying to enter a 6 digit PIN ?

 

If you have a 6 digit PIN issued to you by the IRS you need to enter it in order to e-file.  Go to Federal>Other Tax Situations>Other Return Info>Identity Protection PIN and enter the six-digit PIN.

@LinLou1 Or is it being rejected for AGI?

 

 If it was rejected for AGI—-be aware that many 2021 returns took so long for the IRS to process that your 2021 AGI might not be in the IRS system.   Try using zero instead.

 

If filing with zero is rejected then file again but select the option that you did not file last year.  The IRS does not see that question and it will allow you to e-file with no AGI question.

If that does not work and you still cannot e-file, then print, sign, and mail your tax return.

@Hughmixon1 What does it say in your online account?   Does it show that the 2021 return was "accepted," "rejected," "printed", or "ready to mail?"   If it says anything other than accepted, then it was not filed unless you put it in an envelope yourself and mailed it.  

 

You can file it by mail now.  E-filing is closed for 2021 returns.   Print it, sign and date it in ink, and mail it in.

 

If you are getting a refund, there is not a penalty for filing past the deadline.  If you owe taxes, the interest/penalties will be calculated by the IRS based on how much you owe and when they receive your return and payment. The IRS will bill you for this; it will not be calculated by TurboTax.

I need to enter a land sale, I have the "home and Business" version for 2022. when I search for a location to enter the sale it says to open Premium Turbo tax. How do I do that?

TurboTax Home & Business supports entering information about a land sale.  Thus, there should be no need to switch to a different TurboTax product.  Was this land sale effected in connection with a business?  If yes, then the land sale information should be entered in the Sale of Business Property section of TurboTax Home & Business.  Sale of Business Property is under the Business and Business Income and Expenses tabs.  

 

If the land sale was not part of a business, then you enter the land sale information under Personal Income, in the Stocks, Mutual Funds, Bonds, Other section.

I'm ready to submit my returns. Turbo tax asked my to login to my account. I did but Turbo tax wouldn't accept  my password. After several attempts, I changed my password and was still locked out. I'm to seconds away from completing my taxes. This is very frustrating.

 

I've be a Turbo tax customer for many years. But now, not being able to get help when I need it, I can't and have to write this email, not knowing when my issue will be resolved.

 

After this episode I don't know if I continue using Turbo tax in the future.  That would be a loss for both of us.
