A 2020 tax return cannot be completed using the TurboTax online editions. Those editions are only for tax year 2021.
To complete and file a 2020 tax return using TurboTax you would need to purchase, download and install on a personal computer one of the 2020 desktop editions from this website - https://turbotax.intuit.com/personal-taxes/past-years-products/
A 2020 tax return can only be printed and mailed, it cannot be e-filed.
I am trying to file my 2021 fed and state taxes (California) and I did not request audit defense but it's not letting me delete it. How do I delete it?
Because you want the fees deducted from your refund. If you want to have the fees deducted from your federal refund there is an EXTRA 40 Pay with Refund service charge (45 in California) or you can avoid the fee by paying upfront with a credit card.
What is Premium Services?

If you are in California you need to remove the Premium Service first

In California Desktop program to remove Audit Defense and Premium Services you have to change to pay the 20/25 state efile fee by credit card and not by having it deducted from your federal refund. Or print and mail state for free. Go back through the File tab again and change to pay with a credit card. Then if Audit Defense is still there you can remove it.
I have mistakenly forgot to include the SSA info on my Federal filing. Should I wait until asked about it. I have already seen my checking acct increased by the wrong amount.
@Ronald90 Did you already e-file? What about your checking account? Did the IRS already send you a refund?
If you already filed and did not include the SSA1099, you will have to amend your tax return. But please explain first.
How to correct non feigning of filed tax return?
We need additional details to be able to assist you further. What specifically do you need assistance with on your filed tax return? You can comment here in the thread and we would be happy to help you.
I neglected to include the SSA information in my original Federal filing. I have already received a larger amount from the IRS and would like to correct the issue.
If you have already received your Refund, you can Amend your 2022 return to include your SSA income.
Save a copy of your Filed return on your computer, then open TurboTax and under 'Other Tax Situations' scroll down to 'Other Tax Forms' and 'Amend a Return'.
Enter your SSA under the Retirement topic in Wages & Income.
If there is no difference in your bottom line, you don't need to Amend, just save the SSA info.
Sometimes SSA income is not taxable, depending on your other income.
Is My Social Security Taxable?
how do I sign a return after it was filed?

If you e-filed your tax return you signed the tax return electronically when you entered the 2021 AGI for e-filing the 2022 tax return. No physical signature is required on an e-filed tax return.
@Cfniemeyer And if you are ever asked for a "signed" copy of your tax return, by a lender or FAFSA, etc. that is when you use a pen, sign and date it in ink to keep them happy.

To enter Social Security benefits reported on form SSA-1099
Click on Federal Taxes (Personal using Home and Business)
Click on Wages and Income (Personal Income using Home and Business)
Click on I'll choose what I work on (if shown)
Scroll down to Retirement Plans and Social Security
On Social Security (SSA-1099, RRB-1099), click the start or update button
