Tax Year Prior to 2020: I want to talk to a HUMAN

I have not received my refund. I have checked my account for weeks. I got on both your website and irs.gov. The later said it was deposited to my account Apr 27. My account reflects no such deposit. Where was it sent?

If the IRS WMR tool at  https://www.irs.gov/refunds says your refund has been sent electronically, then where the funds go first depends on what you chose for your refund option.   Look at your return PDF and view a page called Electronic Filing Instructions and that should show you what your refund choice was.

Here are some possibilities:

  1. If you chose no special handling, the IRS sends a direct deposit directly to your bank account (or card.)  If your bank refuses the deposit, it goes back to the IRS who would issue a check in the mail.
  2. On the other hand, if you chose to pay any TurboTax fees out of your Federal refund, the IRS sends your refund to an intermediary bank where the fees are subtracted, and then that intermediary bank sends the remainder of the refund to your bank account (or card).   The company that handles that is SBTPG, a Green Dot company, and the bank is often a Green Dot Bank or affiliate.   If for some reason your bank refuses that deposit, it goes back to SBTPG's bank, who would normally issue a paper check in the mail.  Less commonly, SBTPG might send a returned deposit back to the IRS and let the IRS send a check in the mail.
If you used that method to pay TurboTax fees, you can look up the refund status at SBTPG's refund lookup tool.  Choose the "For Taxpayers" portal at:  https://www.sbtpg.com/
  3. If you chose to receive your refund into a Credit Karma Money Spend account and Credit Karma Visa Debit Card, that is handled by a bank called MVB Bank.  Some people have said they ended up with that Credit Karma option without realizing it and spent weeks wondering where their money was, and it was at Credit Karma.   If that happened to you, you can contact Credit Karma Support for the Money Spend account.
  4. A few users have reported that the IRS sent their refund to their brokerage cash account without their realizing it.   I suspect these users had used the TurboTax import feature to import data from a brokerage account in the past and that TurboTax also imported that deposit info.   In that case, the bank involved would be whatever particular underlying bank the brokerage uses to manage the cash funds in a client's brokerage account.

NOTE:  It's also possible to have more than one of those situations if fees were paid out of the Federal refund (option 2).  For example, a filer might have chosen situations 2 and 3, or 2 and 4.

@01264599     I added the link to SBTPG's refund lookup tool in my original answer above just in case you had chosen to pay any TurboTax fees out of the Federal refund.     https://www.sbtpg.com/

If you didn't have any fees, or if you paid them upfront with credit/debit card, then SBTPG would not be involved.

When I do the yearly summary for charitable contributions on Its Deductible, can the summary be switched to alphabetical listings.  I have 3 accounts with the same name.

Can I delete those whom I no longer support from years past?

Tax Year Prior to 2020: I want to talk to a HUMAN

Not sure if have been made aware but the It's Deductible tool will be discontinued after the 2022 tax filing in Oct of 2023 so what you are asking for will not be added to the discontinued program.   There will be no 2023 entries allowed.

TurboTax Help Intuit

How do I export my data from ItsDeductible?

Important: Intuit has decided not to discontinue ItsDeductible and will continue to support the tool through tax year 2022 (including preparation of 2022 returns until October 15, 2023). Your account and data will continue to be available without interruption. If you are an ItsDeductible user, you should have received a notification of this change on or about July 5, 2022.

Follow these steps to export and save your ItsDeductible data.

  1. Sign in to your ItsDeductible account here
  2. Select the tax year you want to save
  3. Select View Summaries
  4. Select PDF next to the data you want to save
  5. Repeat steps 2–4 for all other tax years you’d like to save

We recommend keeping all tax return data for the last three years for your tax records.

That's not a response. Your guys' customer service number does NOT connect you to a person, it's a bunch of automated voices that literally have no idea what you're trying to get done. Never once does it give you the option to speak to a person and the automatic responses are far from helpeful. It's insanity that I paid for this service to have absolutely no assistance when needed.

What good is it to have an icon on my computer when it is useless.?

Tax Year Prior to 2020: I want to talk to a HUMAN

You need your 2020 AGI to efile 2021. The AGI is on 2020 1040 line 11. If you filed a Joint return you use the same AGI for each spouse.

How to find the AGI.
https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/agi/help/how-do-i-find-last-year-s-agi/01/25947

If you didn't file 2020 or filed it later in the year or mailed it, then try entering 0 for the AGI. If that doesn't work you will have to print and mail your return.

Or request a transcript from the IRS

Tax Year Prior to 2020: I want to talk to a HUMAN

I'm just trying to find my wait time. It's been a few weeks I know it could be 6 weeks but we are close to the point I need to know when. Can a person, help me please. Super simple I just need some help

Tax Year Prior to 2020: I want to talk to a HUMAN

@sturdivant It is not clear what exactly you are trying to look up.   Are you trying to see what the IRS shows in your online account with the IRS?

https://www.irs.gov/payments/your-online-account

You say you did not receive the stimulus payments.

The first EIP --or stimulus check--- was issued in 2020  It was for $1200 for adults and $500 for a dependent under the age of 17.   The IRS used information from either your 2019 or 2020 tax return to issue those checks so they could send them out in a hurry.

The 2nd EIP or stimulus was issued in late 2020 or early 2021 and was $600 for adults and $600 for dependents under age 17.

If you did not receive the 1st and/or 2nd stimulus check you can get it by filing a 2020 tax return and using the recovery rebate credit in Federal Review.   It will end up on line 30 of a 2020 tax return and will be added to your refund (or reduce your tax due).

The 3rd EIP--or stimulus check-- was sent out in mid-March or later in 2021 and was for $1400 per person--adults and dependents no age limit.

If you did not get the 3rd EIP payment you can get it by filing a 2021 tax return and using the recovery rebate credit in Federal Review.   The credit will go on line 30 of your Form 1040 and will add to your refund (or reduce your tax due).

Or are your trying to look up the status of a tax return that you filed:

First, check your e-file status to see if your return was accepted:

https://turbotax.intuit.com/tax-tools/efile-status-lookup/

Once your federal return has been accepted by the IRS, only the IRS has any control.  TurboTax does not receive any updates from the IRS. Your ONLY source of information about your refund now is the IRS.

You need your filing status, your Social Security number and the exact amount  (line 35a of your 2021 Form 1040) of your federal refund to track your Federal refund:

https://www.irs.gov/refunds

To track your state refund:

https://ttlc.intuit.com/questions/1899433-how-do-i-track-my-state-refund

Or are you having trouble finding your TurboTax account?

You have to access your own account and/or  print it for yourself using exactly the same account and user ID that you used when you prepared the return.
