Tax Year Prior to 2020: I want to talk to a HUMAN

@ThatBlondeGuy

FYI ... TT is just a tool ... it is a DIY tax program where you complete your own tax return and submit it ... at no time is TT required to or can do anything for you with regard to the IRS no more than the pencil & calculator could do for you  if you had used those tools to complete the return.

Once you file the return and TT passes along the acceptance of the filing with the IRS/state they have done the job you paid for and no one at Intuit can help you with anything tax related legally.

After the tax return has been Accepted by the IRS (meaning only that they received the return) it will be in the Processing mode until the tax refund has been Approved and then a date for Sending will be available on the IRS website.   Turbotax is not able to assist you any longer ... they are out of the loop once your return has been filed successfully.

See this IRS website for federal tax refund FAQ's - https://www.irs.gov/refunds/tax-season-refund-frequently-asked-questions

Only the IRS controls when and if a tax refund is Approved and Sent.

Call the IRS:  1-800-829-1040  hours 7 AM - 7 PM local time Monday-Friday

When calling the IRS do NOT choose the first option re: "Refund", or it will send you to an automated phone line.

So after first choosing your language, then do NOT choose Option 1 (refund info).  Choose option 2 for "personal income tax" instead.

Then press 1 for "form, tax history, or payment".

Then press 3 "for all other questions."

Then press 2 "for all other questions."

- When it asks you to enter your SSN or EIN to access your account information, don’t enter anything.

- After it asks twice, you will get another menu.

Then press 2 for personal or individual tax questions.

Then press 4 for all other inquiries.

It should then transfer you to an agent.

Or you can contact your local IRS office.  See this IRS website for local IRS offices - http://www.irs.gov/uac/Contact-Your-Local-IRS-Office-1 or call 1-844-545-5640 to set up an appointment

Or you may want to contact a Taxpayer Advocate in your area.  See this IRS website for Taxpayer Advocate in your area and a toll free number - http://www.irs.gov/Advocate/Local-Taxpayer-Advocate

Tax Year Prior to 2020: I want to talk to a HUMAN

After being charged over $200, I expect TurboTax to take at least SOME responsibility for their software's Ffffff-ups!

I needed to input some numbers for the 1095-A ((but)) I did NOT have it in Jan, Feb, or March of this year - TurboTax seems to think a 0 for the 1st input box is unacceptable - therefore I cannot file.... and it will not let me file State because it says Federal is not e-file-able.  EVEN IF I PRINT THE FEDERAL OUT TO MAIL IT, IT *WILL*NOT* allow me to do ANYTHING with the STATE RETURN even thought *I* HAVE ALREADY *PAID* FOR IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

HOW CAN WE *ACTUALLY* GET IN TOUCH WITH TURBOTAX!!!!!!! ????

And the phone number gives me a recording t hat says it is NOT available in MY location - I AM IN SOUTH CAROLINA!!!!!!!!!!

I have used TT since 1996 when you had to go to WALMART and buy it on CD-ROM but the past few years it has cost more and more but gave us less and less!!!!!

Tax Year Prior to 2020: I want to talk to a HUMAN

@ThatBlondeGuy - Okay, glad you asked for help from this forum,.....so did you ever obtain Form 1095A?  You can go to this website to obtain it

https://www.healthcare.gov/tax-form-1095/

it is not clear from your post whether you ever obtained the form and input the information into Turbo Tax. That input is a ncessary IRS requirement to efile).  It's not Turbo Tax's rule, it's the iRS' rule.

If you did obtain Form 1095A and enter it, when you state 'the first input box', what specific line item and what form (presumably 1095A) are you referring to?

regardless, you can always print and paper file the state return.  Turbo Tax DOES NOT charge for efiling in any event.

post back and let's see if we can get to the bottom of this.

If you are using the Desktop installed program and paid the  $20 or 25 to efile the state state return you can ask for a refund.  If you are using the Online browser version the fees are to prepare the federal and state returns whether you efile or print and mail.  Either way you should be able to print out state to mail it.

No, - online - full package ($$$$ wise) - it WILL NOT ALLOW ANYTHING TO BE DONE WITH THE STATE BECAUSE IT SAYS NOT ABLE TO eFile FEDERAL.  THEN IT KEEPS CHANGING BOTH Federal and State BACK to eFile - then gives error.... rinse, repeat - over and over again.... I keep changing it back to print and mail since it says NO to eFile.... I am at a total IMPASSE and can not move forward.

Tax Year Prior to 2020: I want to talk to a HUMAN

Yes - everything is completely ready to go (except) that TT will not allow me to file.

The 1095-A is complete.  The problem is that the 1st box is a 0 - and that is CORRECT.  $0 for the 1st box.... which TurboTax does NOT like.

NO you CAN NOT print your STATE return if TurboTax decides that it does not like your FEDERAL.

GOOGLE IT.

Tax Year Prior to 2020: I want to talk to a HUMAN

@ThatBlondeGuy - when you state the first block is correctly a zero, please post what line number and column you are referring to - that is going to help solve this.

are you referring to line 21, column A? (and if so, what is in line 21 column b?)

Tax Year Prior to 2020: I want to talk to a HUMAN

Line 21 (January) from the 1095-A

Tax Year Prior to 2020: I want to talk to a HUMAN

@ThatBlondeGuy - did you try and delete ALL the zeros through ALL 12 MONTHS (lines 21-33) and resubmit with blanks - there are other posts from earlier this year that recommend that approach....I'll assume you have numbers in column B.

Tax Year Prior to 2020: I want to talk to a HUMAN

YES - many many many times - over and over again TT goes back to that "fix error" and has the 0.00 put BACK in there - every single time.  I have literally been doing this 1 step for MONTHS.  I can not get past it.

Tax Year Prior to 2020: I want to talk to a HUMAN

(Just an aside, ALL the months ARE NOT a 0 - just Jan/Feb/March)

Tax Year Prior to 2020: I want to talk to a HUMAN

@ThatBlondeGuy - understood, I was only recommending blanking out the cells in ALL COLUMNS where there is a zero- sounds that is all columns for Jan, Feb, Mar

Hi! I have not received my Indiana 2021 tax return yet. Was suppose to arrive may 5th. Can you look into this and see when it will be arriving please.

.

Tax Year Prior to 2020: I want to talk to a HUMAN

@bb0111 - no one on these Boards or anyone at Turbo Tax would know that.  That is confidential information that Indiana would only share directly with you.  Suggest calling the Indiana State dept of revenue at 317-232-2240

Tax Year Prior to 2020: I want to talk to a HUMAN

@bb0111 TurboTax does not get any information from the IRS or your state after you file your tax return.  They cannot legally share any information with TurboTax.   No one at TT can check on it for you.

Federal and state refunds come from completely separate entities,  There is no rule as to which one will come first or how much time there will be between their arrivals.
