@Im156  A Joint return is only one return combined for the both of you.  Why do you need to amend?  Did you accidentally file 2 returns?  

It's common to end up with multiple accounts. First LOG OUT of whatever TurboTax account you're logged into right now. Then use this TurboTax account recovery website to get a list of user ID's for an email address. Run the tool against any email addresses you may have used

I am trying to finish up taxes for Linda [removed]. Social security number [removed]. You guys are making the taxes harder to do this year. You have an email address that I don't know and can't get her taxes finished. I'm getting ready to change to H & R Block. This is ridiculous. I tried calling and couldn't get anyone. I don't mind paying for the program if I could get it. I have paid for the program the last three years and when I  logged on it went to the online version and I was charged  again for the program that I actually used. I can't find anyway to get a live person to talk to.

@Jerome4491 What happened?   Do you mean you purchased the CD/download and then instead of downloading and using it you used online software and paid again?   When you buy the download you have to install it to your own hard drive.  From then on you do not ever "log on" to a TT account.  You just open the program from your own computer.   Did you do that again for 2021?  

 

If you did not enter your license code or download the software you are not using the desktop software you paid for.

 

If you are using online, you are using the wrong program.  You need to switch to the desktop software to get what you paid for.  You have to download it, update it and open it up from your own hard drive to use it.

Do you have a copy of your 2020 return with the 2020 AGI?   You appear to have tried to efile, so I presume you do.   But I'm confused by what you mean when you said "I've been trying to get them"  so maybe you don't.    Do you need to know how to find a copy of your 2020 online TurboTax return?

 

We can tell you how to find a 2020 online return, and once you have it, be sure you are using the 2020 AGI from your original return--not an amended one (if applicable.)

The 2020 AGI is on your 2020 Form 1040, Line 11.

 

If you are married filing jointly, both spouses use the same total 2020 AGI; do not split it.

 

If you filed your 2020 return real late in the year such as November 2021 or later, or if the IRS had not finished processing your 2020 return by November 2021, if it rejected when using the actual 2020 AGI, then you can try using an AGI of 0 (zero.)

I purchased Turbotax in Costco on CD.  My CD/DVD drive died.  I need to download my copy using my CD license.  I called your computer but it does not tell me how to download Turbotax Home & Business using my hard copy license key (it only has instructions for when purchased online).  I find no instructions for this on your website menus either, and a search of help topics also returns nothing, even though this must be common.

 

How can I download Turbotax Home & Business online and install it using my hard copy license key?

This only works if you haven't installed from the CD anywhere yet.

 

If you bought the CD but want to download it,

There should be a card in the CD case on on the CD envelope that says how to download it and you will need the 14 or 16 digit code from it to enter.
