I know that I should admend my return however TT currently says I cant yet. So if when i admend and owe due to getting a larger refund will they allow me to make payments ? Or will I have to pay it all back by April 15?
Well you should not amend until you get the first refund. Then you should have the money to send back if needed.
If I got my state return already than I shouldn't have a problem receiving my federal return is that correct?
I have worked in four different areas and last year I only have one w2 so far and would like to file my taxes have never filed my own taxes myself what can I do?
I am going to file for a refund on my social security and medicare tax. I require two W-2 forms since i worked for two employers. I got my federal tax refund without any issues a month back. But for FICA(Social security and medicare) i do not have W2 for one of the employers. I lost the copy i had and i do not work there anymore. Also the company is closed because of the pandemic and it is unlikely i will get my W2 by July 15th
So my question is can i file my refund without one of the W2? will i get refund just for the other one at least or will it be rejected all together? Kindly advise. I am freaking out since i have just 3 more days to file it
Whoa! What did you do? You have to file all your income and W2s on the same tax return. And without the other W2 how do you know you overpaid SS? You don't overpay Medicare, there is no max.
If you filed without the other job you need to amend your return to add it. You need to get another copy of the W2. How to amend a 2019 Online return

Do you mean you did file both jobs and got the refund? The excess Social Security would have been included on that return.
If you had more than one employer and the total of box 4 (only box 4 not box 6) on all your 2019 W2s for Social Security is more than $8,239.80 you get the excess back on your tax return. And it is for each spouse separately, not combined. Check 1040 Schedule 3 line 11 for it. Then Schedule 3 goes to 1040 line 18d.
If you filed and received a tax refund last month, you cannot e-file again. The return will be rejected. You only file 1 tax return per year, so you will need to file an amended tax return when you get a copy of your other W-2. You have 3 years to file the amended return. If you can't get the copy, you can contact SSA to get a wage report or wait for the IRS to send you a notice.
Generally, you do not get your social security and medicare taxes refunded; you only get the excess income taxes that were withheld. And if you only filed one of your W-2s, you will likely owe income tax when you amend the return since you only get one standard deduction and that was used when you filed your original return. If you wait for the IRS to send you a notice and you owe tax, they will charge you interest so it will save you $$ if you get the return amended sooner than later. @saran_1994
@saran_1994 It is unfortunate that you have waited until merely days from the deadline to ask about how to get your 2019 W-2's. W-2's come from your employer--that is who you have to ask--call them, email them, snail mail them or drop in and ask for your W-2. ALL of your 2019 income is supposed to go on your 2019 return. And...what do you mean when you say you are going "to file for a refund on my social security and medicare tax." Why do you think you would get that back? Are you in some special circumstance -- like an immigration status -- where you do not pay for FICA?
There are other ways to get the information--all time consuming.
What you are saying you want to do does not "add up." You say you already received a refund about a month ago. So did you file with only one of the W-2's? If so your next move is to file an amended return when you get your hands on your other W-2, so that you can add that income to the income you already reported to the IRS on a 2019 return.

Other ways to get W-2’s:
Pay Social Security $86 per W-2:
You can get a wage and income transcript from the IRS: It will not show the actual W-2, 1099’s, etc, but will show the income information the IRS received. It will not, however, show your state information. It will only show the federal information.

To amend your 2019 tax return:
ALL of your W-2’s and/or 1099’s were supposed to be on the same tax return. Remember that next year and do not e-file until you have everything. Now you have to prepare an amended return to add that W-2—and the process will take months.
How do I amend my 2019 TurboTax Online return?
A 1040X cannot be e-filed. It must be printed and mailed. It will take about 4 months for the IRS to process an amended return. It is a good idea to use a mailing service that will track it, like UPS or certified mail, so you will know it was received.
Wait about 3 weeks from mailing and you can check the status of your amended return:

User has started another post and mentioned form 843
I have four Washington but want to file two of them now can I do that
@Kivette bro You do not get to choose how much of your income you want to enter.
Every 2020 W-2 that you received must be reported on your 2020 tax return, even if they are for small amounts. Remember that each one of those W-2’s has your Social Security number on it, and that income was reported to the IRS by the employer. You do not want to get in trouble with the IRS for under-reporting your income.
ALL of your W-2’s must be entered on the SAME tax return.
Go to Federal>Wages & Income to enter a W-2.
After you enter the first one, you click Add Another W-2.
W-2's come from your employer, and they have until February 1 to issue it. Some employers allow you to import the W-2 through the software, but for security reasons you still need information from the actual W-2 to import it. You might need to phone, drop in, email and/or snail mail an old employer to make sure they know where to send your W-2.

And….SAVE YOUR OWN W-2! TURBOTAX DOES NOT SAVE IT FOR YOU. TurboTax will not have a copy of it in your account and will not have an image even if you snapped a photo. It is up to you to save it for your own records as stated on the back of the W-2.
I filed my taxes but I didn’t have my 2nd w-2 will I still get a stimulus check?
I was unable to get my w2, but I did notify the IRS. Will I get a stimulus check?
The third round of stimulus payments (1400) are separate from your tax returns.
However, any missed round one and/or two payments (1200 and 600) would be on your 2020 tax return as a Recovery Rebate Credit.
Since your tax return is missing income reported on a W2, the processing of your tax return may be delayed while the IRS attempts to reconcile the income you reported against what your employers reported.
You will likely get a letter explaining the delay and providing guidance to make the correction.
