I have 2 w2's what happens if i dont file one?

You bet they will catch it. You cannot just under-report your income because you want a bigger refund.
You started off with your first W-2 and your refund look pretty good?  Then you added another W-2 and it stopped looking so good? That is normal.  When you added more income, your tax liability increased, so you saw your refund decrease.  The program begins by giving your your personal exemption of $4000 plus your standard deduction—both of which lowered your taxable income. So you are not being taxed on as much of the income on that first W-2.  Then you added taxable income--so the refund went down. Your refund (or tax due) is based on the total of your income, not “per W-2.”  Wait until you have entered ALL of your income and deduction information.  You can't really tell anything until it is all entered.  That “refund monitor” does not mean anything until everything has been entered.

I have 2 w2's what happens if i dont file one?

hey guys. I filed my taxes for the first time ever a couple days ago. My return was excepted by the IRS and I can track it and everything, but I'm going to get another W-2 in the mail soon  from a previous employer. What should I do if my first W-2 was already excepted and filed ? help please

You cannot change or add anything on the return that you just e-filed.  It is too late, just like when you put an envelope in a US mailbox
Now you have to wait until the IRS either rejects or accepts your return.  If your return is rejected, you will be able to go into your account and make the necessary changes to your tax return and re-submit your return.
If the IRS accepts your return, however, then you have to wait longer until it has been fully processed and you have received your refund.  THEN you can prepare an amended tax return and mail it in. You will need to use a form called a 1040X. You cannot e-file an amended return.  They have to be mailed, and it takes at least 2-3 months for the IRS to process an amended return.  Meanwhile, DO NOT go in and start changing anything on your return in the system, or you will make a mess for yourself.  Sit tight and wait until you see what the IRS does with the return you just e-filed

I have 2 w2's what happens if i dont file one?

I filed my taxes about a week ago, and afterwards got a 1099 in the mail for prize winnings from the Perk app - apparently I made $612 so they needed to be filed. I am expected to receive a tax refund of about $4,000 - My question is, will the IRS now reject my return or just deduct whatever is supposed to be deducted from my refund? I know that they too got a copy from PERK of that 1099. Thanks!

The irs excepted my return and it says being delayed if i have missing w2 will they still process and let me ammend after the fact

I have 2 w2's what happens if i dont file one?

contact IRS to see why the delay. they may be expecting you to file 1040X or there may be something else wrong you don't know about yet. they will tell you what is the next step.

i have a question. My tax refund was 900 for one job and 2857 for another job but but it later said they were taking or i was "paying" 1608 and dropped my total refund to 1249, why are they charginf me that much?

If I'm getting a refund and I forgot a w-2, can I just not file it? It was a very small amount so I don't really care about the $20 difference if it's even that much

@jacky123sms  That's common.  It just looks that way because you put them in as separate W2s and saw the tax due change in between them. If it all was on one W2 you would get the same answer. And each job was withholding like it was your only job.

Because you only get one standard deduction and personal exemption (or 2 for Joint), no matter how many W2s you put in. Turbo Tax starts out by giving you the Standard Deduction.  You entered more income when you entered the second W2 but you didn't enter more deductions.  And each job only withheld taxes like it was your only job for the year.  You might want to adjust your withholding.  Also as you add more income you might not be getting as many credits as before like the EIC credit.  And it was probably giving you the EIC credit until you went over.
