What does "Your tax return is still being processed. A refund date will be provided when available." Exactly mean?

Sometimes you need to give them a nudge. If they have recieved the paperwork, they will see info in computer. Call them and explain that way they can open your file and hopefully release your funds. I hope this helps

People (including myself ) are calling and they (the IRS) give a different answer each time they call. Here's my thoughts, If I am using TurboTax to do my taxes and they are guiding me through it.There should be NO mistakes, That is why I do my taxes via TT. If they say I did not need something or that it didn't apply to my tax situation, then I trust that TT knows what they are talking about. Why use a tax service if they are not accurate... If Anything on my taxes are missing or incomplete it's on them, and that is not good.   And all I see is copied and pasted answers from the "Turbo Tax Professionals" here. It's really NOT helping

@ReachAndConnectACSO, there is only so much TurboTax can do on our end in regards to a delay for your refund. We have no access to the IRS systems and they do not share any information with us after the return is accepted. If you get a letter in the mail or see a specific code on your status, you can always share that here and we'll try our best to provide insight into the situation. Sometimes though, the only contact that can give you the best information is the IRS, since again, we do not get copies of the letters or delay codes, etc. If the IRS notifies you that there was an error on your return and it was due to TurboTax error, please let us know by contacting customer care. You can do that by following the directions here.

That's scary, because when I did my taxes here, they said I did not NEED that...I am going to flip out if Turbo Tax software said I did not need it and I actually did!!

You guys will be my first call, the second will be to the BBB  because we trust you guys to do what we are not trained to do...We trust you to walk us through every step. And if it was wrong due to TT that trust will be gone!  And the opportunity to earn it back won't exist, at least for me. Turbo Tax will not have a status on your refund. If the IRS website says processing or in process, this means they are working on it.

After seeing all the replys to this im certain i will receive a letter stating ill be waiting until the end of summer. All i know is i will NEVER use TurboTax ever again because this was my first time and go figure so many others using them has the same problem.. I feel like they delay actually sending to IRS in some way.. i e-filed and it is complete false advertisement when it says it cuts your refund time in half. Bith TurboTax and the IRS oughtta be ashamed of themselves for putting hard working TAX PAYERS in financial binds like this. This is the roughest year financially for me and its the only time i have ever been relying on my tax return to come in just so i can stay afloat. Im broke, taking care of my elderly and sick mother, have absolutely no help with any bills or care. Hospital bills, light bills, water bills, groceries, gas, car insurance, gas bills.. if i pop a tire i am completely screwed amd will have to ride on a donut or get my water and lights shut off.. ME AND MANY OTHERS NEED THIS MONEY ENTITLED TO US SO WE CAN SURVIVE! what is happening to America? When did our government stop caring about the hard working american citizens of this nation that live by the constitution and do what is needed to be the best citizens we can be? My friends daughter recieved her refund for working a few months before quiting her first job and recieved it in  2 weeks and spent that money on weed... yes, she gor caught! But we cant receive ours because their busy looking for tax fraud so they can obtain more money while good people suffer. Do yals jobs! We do ours. Get people their money then go search for tax fraud. Im sure yal have already missed more than have found anyways. Anyone whos refund is still saying processed the best advice i can give you is forget about it. Go ahead and be prepared to wait 6 times as long and pray to God you actually receive it. I give TurboTax -5stars and the IRS -10.. To me this is not right and unnacceptable

I filed on 2/24 I know that it's still too soon to even get anything! But I want to know why I'm getting this message I've done LOTS of research but not getting anything concrete. this is the message that I am getting 

Your tax return is still being processed.

A refund date will be provided when available.

The status bar is completely gone it was there for the first few days. My refund amount still comes out on the side and my filing status!

Can someone please answer my question I'm lost nothing has changed in my return aside from not claiming 2 of my dependants this year because they went to go live out of town with their biological mother.

If you receive that status in Where's My Refund? then the IRS is still processing your return and has not approved your refund yet.

This is perfectly normal.  Continue to check back as you will eventually see your refund status again.

It generally takes the IRS 21 days to issue refunds.  If it's been more than 21 days since your return was accepted, we suggest contacting the IRS directly to inquire about your refund. Go here for tips on reaching a live IRS agent when you call.
