To amend your 2020 return, you need to use the same TurboTax account that you used to file your original 2020 return.
To amend prior year return that you have already filed, please check:
How to amend (change or correct) a return you've already filed?
I have used the same account and already filed year 2020’s return. Also, followed the instruction on the link you mentioned. I also used 3 different browsers - chrome/Firefox /safari.
Please try logging completely out of the TurboTax website, then clear your browser's cache and delete cookies. A full or corrupted cache can keep TurboTax from functioning properly.

What is the TurboTax phone number?
Thanks but it didn't help...I even had a friend logging into my account remotely from his desktop and encountering the same issue. Called into Turbotax support and the technician said apparently, we can amend the previous tax return online after April of last year...which is really puzzling because the button is there! Also, when I googled, there are literatures that mention one can do so up to 3 years online using Turbotax...maybe that has changed but, it's a pain because now I have to use the desktop Turbotax software to amend the report and then manually enter the information when doing 2021's return because if I import the .tax file from the amendment I've made for 2020, I'll lose everything I've worked on 2021 so far I believe.
Anyways, 4 hours of run around for nothing...that "Amend 2020 tax online" button should not be there if we're not able to do so. I guess that's the cost for trying to save $$$ vs.paying for an actual accountant...
*Cannot amend year 2020 tax online as of April 2021 that is.
Maybe someone else can log into their TurboTax account and click on that "Amend 2020 tax return online" button and see if it actually works for their account?
Was your 2020 return rejected? If so, you can make the needed changes and re-submit the return by following the instructions in this link: How do I fix a rejected return?
Or, did you just submit your 2020 tax return and it has been accepted by the IRS? If this is the case, you will need to wait until you have received your refund or taxes due paid, if applicable and then amend that return to make changes,
If you return has been filled, to amend your 2020 return, you need to use the same TurboTax account that you used to file your original 2020 return. If needed you can do a account recovery to pull up all of your TurboTax accounts.

How do I amend my 2020 return?
@confusedJ1
I filed my 2020 tax return last year on time, it was accepted and done. and yes, I've used the same TurboTax account.
Honestly, the only thing I need is for someone to log into their Turbotax account and try to click on the "Amend 2020 tax online" button to see if they are having the same issue to confirm whether the issue is just me or globally across their system.
Not to disrespect any other answers but I've done my research and I know this is not user issue.

You're not alone. Trying to amend 2020 return and it just loops back to sign in. I am using the same account. If I wasn't I wouldn't be able to view the tax year I want to amend. Gonna try a different browser to see if that works. Currently using Chrome
Trying to amend 2020 return also and it just loops back to sign in. I am using the same account as well. nothing is working for me and Turbo Tax is not responding. last time I will use this garbage company.
You cannot amend a 2020 return online in 2022 ... you must use the downloaded option ... download the .tax2020 file and the 2021 program ...
Thanks. I figured it out and what you mentioned is exactly what I had to do and its works. what a BS process but just finished amending my return and now have to mail in the amended returns.
