Finally, I put AGI: 0. It was accepted.
Many thanks to Donin!

My wife & I file jointly, and have been for many years. I keep getting the rejection code saying my AGI is not correct from last years return. I have use TT for many years as well. I have my 2019 return in hand and the numbers match.
It does say enter the primary tax payer AGI, but if we are filing jointly would that not be both of us together? I have no way to look up my personal AGI as we have been filing jointly mar many years.
One thing, the last 3 or 4 years we have been filing by mail, not e-file.
So, what am I doing wrong?
Thanks
If you mailed your return last year then try entering 0 for the AGI for each of you. The IRS took a long time to process mailed returns and the AGI didn't get entered into the database in time.

If you can’t get it to efile you will have to print and mail it.

Be sure to attach copies of your W2s and any 1099s that have withholding on them. You have to mail federal and state in separate envelopes because they go to different places. Get a tracking number from the post office when you mail them for proof of filing.

Thank You VolvoGirl. I put a 0 in there and it got accepted.
Dave.
I am having this problem right now. I have tried changing my AGI to 0 and still got rejected. I know the PIN is correct. Even the original AGI was correct as I did TurboTax last year and had it both on this computer and hard copy. I don't really want to mail it in, but is that the only way to get around this? Please help. I even upgraded to Premium hoping for some LIVE help and still nothing.
@hillaryjp Get an IRS transcript to see what AGI they have on file for you. You can obtain an IRS transcript at Welcome to Get Transcript.
It's possible, for whatever reason, their number may be different. If the IRS number matches yours, then it's an issue with their computers and you will have to mail in your return.
I have also had my e-filed return rejected by the IRS twice for my AGI not matching their records. My husband is primary and I am the spouse on our joint return (he is alive, thankfully!). I have confirmed the AGI is correct and matched my 2019 tax return transcript on the IRS website. This is the first year we have e-filed. Does anyone think that has anything to do with it? Thanks for any insight, I wanted to avoid having to mail the return.
@bclayland If you mailed your return last year then try entering 0 for the AGI for each of you. The IRS took a long time to process 2019 returns so the AGI didn't get into the IRS computers in time.
Thank you, I will give that a try. The rejection email only says my AGI doesn't match and nothing about my husband. Should I try entering 0 for just me on my next try and then for us both if it still gets rejected? Really appreciate your advice!
Wanted to send a big thank you to Volvogirl for solving my efile problem! I entered 0 for my AGI and it went through after 3 rejections. All done till next year!
Just so everyone knows, I finally got my return to go thru right after posting my comment when I changed my AGI to $0. Thanks TurboTax community.
My 2020 TurboTax e-file returns kept getting rejected, per this code, even though I used the exact AGI I submitted on my 2019 returns (in July 2020, by paper). Like many before me, my 2020 e-file returns were finally accepted when I used 2019 AGI = 0. My question is WHY? Well......I suspect the IRS is backlogged with inputting the 2019 paper returns. Maybe that is why my wife & I didn’t get our second stimulus check earlier this year.
@CatinaT1 - A 1,000,000 thanks for your tip!!!
I really owe you a huge debt of gratitude. I looked up my AGI with the IRS, entered it correctly and could not figure out why it was not working. But due to the pandemic and a family emergency, I had filed late (in late November). Your tip was it! I put in zero (0) for my AGI and it was approved.
Thanks to you, I am going to get my return and much needed money much faster this year. Thank you!
we got this also. our agi is correct.
trying the instructions at https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/rejections/help/e-file-reject-ind-031-04-or-ind-032-04-the-agi-or-...
it says
where is: "Fix My Return"?
I am attaching a TurboTax discussion link for your reference. Click here: Fix reject
The instructions should be the same applying to 2020 program.
