As you recommended, I was using Chrome and switched to MS Edge (cleared all cookies etc.) and re-downloaded TurboTax. Still, it downloads, got the icon, but no activation screen pops up. I even turned off the popup blocker. Going on 7 or 8 downloads, deletes and downloads...getting exhausting. Like I said, same PC I have used for last 3-4 years, MS-10 and never had and issue before downloading and activating TurboTax.
Did something change on your end?
I contacted Customer Support and they have no solutions but recommended I use the online version instead...hmmm? Have to check that out.
I tried to use your online option. It says it cannot read my Turbo Tax information from last year...the same one I uploaded as a pdf from your site last year. So does that mean I have to reenter all my information?
I can't believe I am having this problem. Like I said: I swapped out my TurboTax CD with Staples; downloaded and uploaded and executed from my CD and your site a total of 8 times; used two different browsers and cleared all cookies etc. and every time I get the program download and desktop Icon but no popup from your end to enter my License Code.
As you suggested I talked to your Customer Support and they can't help me and told me to try entering my information on your website...BACK TO TOP.
Where is your 2020 return? If you used the CD program last year you should have the .tax2020 file on your computer to transfer into 2021.
You can transfer from the prior year on your computer into the Online version. You will need to have the .tax2020 file on your computer. If you used the Desktop program last year here’s How to switch and transfer from the Desktop program into the Online version........

If you already started an online return you will have to clear it and start over to transfer. How to clear and start over

If you used the Desktop program before you may notice several differences and not like the online version. It has less features and no Forms Mode. You can only do 1 return. Your return is only saved online so be sure to save both the .tax2021 data file and the pdf file to your computer when you are done. In case you need to amend in the future or if you need a copy to get a loan or something. You might not be able to access your online return when you need a copy.
Ok, I am done. I could have finished my taxes in less time that it took me to trouble shoot your non working software. I made an appointment with HR Block and will pay the extra to get this out of my hair. Did everything you asked and whatever software adjustments you made for the 2021 tax year is a no go for me. Its been a great 5-years, but the 6th was...
I will try to return my CD to Staples tomorrow, but if they will not accept it, can I send it to you folks for a refund?
Thanks
Mike

You may use this link @leomccafferty.
I am not able to install it. It tells me to go to SetUp.exe, which I can't find.

Actually try installing from the download. That works better and then you can also install it in another computer if you want.
I purchase Turbotec at best by
Did you buy the CD? Download it instead. Downloading better for many reasons.
There should be a card in the CD case on on the CD envelope that says how to download it and you will need the 14 or 16 digit code from it to enter.
