I only use turbo tax cd. When will the new cd's be avaible

Newer computers do not have CD drives and most people do not use CDs.  There is no point in flooding the landfills with millions of unwanted CDs for the small amount of users who still use them.  You can order a CD if you want one.

You can now buy an install CD for $10 AFTER you buy the download and License Code for the version you want. That’s if you don’t want to use the download method or want to reinstall or install it another computer.

This is not right to force people to download the tax program! I will not be controlled by your tyranny forcing us CCP China style to give you access to our computer and data! This will become a CLASS C ACTION SUIT there are thousand of us who are not laying down and letting you control us!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There are many more of us than you. No it is not exactly the same as purchasing the CD, the CD is my property and I can use as I chose. I refuse to be controlled by turbo tax, now they invade my computer controll my data and use it it anyway they want. NO it is not the same. I never registered my CD never give them permission to access MY PROGRAM! Yes, there is a huge difference you are basically turning all of your info over to turbo tax.

BTW 2 years ago turbo tax locked all prior years on our computers when they forced you to update and I could not get my returns. I complained and threatened them with a lawsuit because this was not in the original agreement. Guess what THEY unlocked my prior years and if I did not had my CD and the CODE I could not get in! So having the CD is important! this is just another way to control us more! You may not mind but I do! I value my freedom and my choices!

it is exactly the same as having the CD! The CD is in my possession. BTW you can buy a CD reader it is not expensive and use it for other purposes, too. Like CD's I have! If there is a problem with turbo tax or your computer or you get a new computer .... to bad the download version is downloaded only once and you are done! SO NO IT IS NOT THE SAME!!!!!!!!!!!

WRONG IT IS NOT THE SAME!!!!!!!!!! THE CD IS IN MY POSSESSION AND I CAN DOWNLOAD IT ANYWHERE AND ANYTIME NOT WITH THE FORCED DOWNLOAD VERSION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! you not have the receipt or date you are screwed besides I do not register with turbo tax they do not get my data!!!!!!!!!!!! I do what I can to prevent any violation of my personal data!

So do I! I am super upset that turbo tax and H & R block is forcing us to provide all of our data by forcing the downloads! I nver registered my CD ever and never gave them access to my data or my computer but when downloading the program we give them FULL ACCESS!!!!!!!!! I am complaining I am making this go viral. I enough people boycott which I doubt because people want their money the paid the IRS to hold for 0 % for the entire year, back. But that will not stop me from trying and hoping more people are agreeing with me!

Sorry that part I said about registering is for something else.  You don’t have to register, I never do.     But how did you install 2023?  Open 2023 and see if you are signed into an Account.   

Starting in 2023 you needed to sign in or create an account to install the Desktop program.  Under the File tab it shows the account you signed into.  You can sign out if you want, but you will need to sign in again to e-file, update, or install states.

It is my property the CD is my property! And updates for prior years are not needed because those prior tax years have not changed. So I do not need to update any prior years. Lame explanation.  BS!!!!!! Turbo tax changed the programs after so when you signed in to an older version you are forced to update and that is when they locked the programs up and you could not access! I complained and reminded them it was violation our original agreements and therefore breaking the law and now turbo tax is subject to legal consequences which I was prepared to bring! When something is wrong I will not stop no matter what it takes I will go after them legally and win!

So not long after me telling them that I would also file complaints with the BBB and consumer Complaint Agency and the Insurance and Banking Department in Trenton and making this issue go viral on social media they updated my programs and removed the lock!!!!!!! And for them now forcing us to download I will be just as relentless!!!!!!!!!!!!

Whoa!  You can download the download more than once.   Since you now have to log into an Intuit Account all your downloads and licenses are listed there (even if you bought it from somewhere else) so if you need to download to install it again or install on another computer, even on the other operating system (Windows, Mac).  And the download will always be up to date with all the updates.  And you have to go Online to update the program frequently and before you file and to efile.  

If you don’t want to buy the install CD for $10 you can burn your downloaded installation file to a CD or store it on other external media. 

I always buy my CDs (and now the download) from Costco.   All my programs are listed in my Intuit account.  And I can download them again.   Only the programs are there.  None of my tax return or info.   It is the same as before, your tax return is only saved and stored on your computer even if you efile.   Do you efile your returns or print and mail them?

I had a similar issue with my computer and was able to install the program, but when we download it we are now at the mercy of Turbo tax and if they do not answer the phone which 90% of the time we are out of lack. I am very upset !!!! or for some other reason... maybe they go out of business or re-organization, and/or new management we are out of lack. Besides now they have access to your computer all of it all my data!!! when I used the CD i would not register ... I am not giving them my data ... this so corrupt so wrong
