No it is not exactly the same as purchasing the CD, the CD is my property and I can use as I chose. I refuse to be controlled by turbo tax, now they invade my computer controll my data and use it it anyway they want. NO it is not the same. I never registered my CD never give them permission to access MY PROGRAM! Yes, there is a huge difference you are basically turning all of your info over to turbo tax.
BTW 2 years ago turbo tax locked all prior years on our computers when they forced you to update and I could not get my returns. I complained and threatened them with a lawsuit because this was not in the original agreement. Guess what THEY unlocked my prior years and if I did not had my CD and the CODE I could not get in! So having the CD is important! this is just another way to control us more! You may not mind but I do! I value my freedom and my choices!
