I need technical support, please.

The app keeps saying I have a HSA account that I over funded and that I need to take that money out. I don’t have an HSA at all. I keep going back to check that the item was checked properly and

It is possible to accidentally indicate to TurboTax that you had an HSA when perhaps you didn't. If you did not have an HSA, please do the following to remove all traces of HSA information from your return.

 

NOTE: if you see a question "What type of High Deductible Health Plan did you have any December 1, 2018?" (yes, 2018), be sure to answer "NONE".

 

1. make a copy of your W-2(s) (if you don't have the paper copies)

2. delete your W-2(s) (use the garbage can icon next to the W-2(s) on the Income screen

 

*** Desktop***

3. go to View (at the top), choose Forms, and select the desired form. Note the Delete Form button at the bottom of the screen.

 

*** Online ***

3. go to Tax Tools (on the left), and navigate to Tools->Delete a form

 

4. delete form(s) 1099-SA (if one), 8889-T, and 8889-S (if one)

5. go back and re-add your W-2(s), preferably adding them manually

6. continue with your return.

 

P.S. I am concerned that you got the message about excess contributions - is it possible that you have a code W in box 12 on your W-2? If so, then your employer thinks you have an HSA, and you need to talk to them about that.

Be sure to attach copies of your W2s and any 1099s that have withholding on them.  You have to mail federal and state in separate envelopes because they go to different places.  Get a tracking number from the post office when you mail them for proof of filing.

I need technical support.  Last year I completed my 2020 taxes and e-filed.  My e-file was rejected and they said I  need last years . AGI  I didnt have the AGI.  I soon I received the AGI from 2019 I tried to complete my 2020 taxes and could pull up turbo tax on my computer.  I need technical help to pull up 2020 taxes so I can complete 2020.  My name is Tanya Hrobowski-Simpson 97-762-1107.

If you started your 2020 return in TurboTax Online but weren't able to file it before the shutdown, you can finish and paper-file it in the TurboTax download software for PC or Mac.

 

Start by purchasing and downloading the software and install it on your computer. If you're also filing a state, be sure to download and install the corresponding state program.

I need technical support, please.

I’ve been trying to talk to a real person and it wants me to pay $29. All I’m trying to do is finish filing my taxes and the website keeps saying “Ooops, we have hit a snag”. I’m on the File section of TurboTax. It says “just 3 more steps and we’ll file your returns.” I click the Start box on step 1 and get the error message. I can’t proceed to file. Please help. @BillM223

Sign off the TurboTax online account.

Sign back onto your account - https://myturbotax.intuit.com/

 

If that does not help with the problem then change your web browser to either Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox or Microsoft Edge
