Have you filed my taxes, or do I have to file myself?
I want to talk to someone about whether Turbo tax and experts can handle filing US taxes from a Canadian resident, including the US-Canada tax treaty covering taxes paid in one country being considered in the other country. I find it frustrating that I can't talk to someone to see whether TurboTax covers my situation, and whether I should purchase the service or not. The automated phone number for assistance can not handle any questions that are non-standard, and doesn't give you an option if your question does not fit.
Did you e-file? Did you click a big orange button that said “Transmit my returns now?”
When you e-file your federal return you will receive two emails from TurboTax. The first one will say that your return was submitted. The second email will tell you if your federal return was accepted or rejected. If you e-filed a state return, there will be a third email to tell you if the state accepted or rejected your state return.
First, check your e-file status to see if your return was accepted:

If the IRS accepted it, what does it say here?
Or does your account say “Ready to Mail?”
Note: If it says “Ready to Mail” or “Printed” that means YOU have to mail it yourself. TurboTax does not mail your tax return for you.

how to efile my state after i have efiled my federal
I am trying to pay fee for filing state return. It won't let me change password or Gmail account
Please click How do I e-file my state after I already filed my federal? @dkisiah
Could you please clarify if you are not able to change the information in your TurboTax account? @sigismondi1
I think I failed to sign the 2022 e-filed return. I did see prompt for signature
You sign the efile by entering your 2021 AGI at the end. Did you do that? Otherwise it will reject. If it is Accepted you are good.
You can check your efile status here,
https://turbotax.intuit.com/tax-tools/efile-status-lookup
When you efile you get back 2 emails. The first email only confirms the transmission. The second email says if the IRS (or state) Accepted or Rejected your efile.
When you log into your account you should also see the status and if it was Accepted or Rejected, Started, Printed, Ready to Mail, etc. What does it say?
The irs said my return from last year is waiting to be labeled mail or electronic...I can't do it I need help to finish
First make sure you are in the same account that you used last year to prepare your tax return. You can check to see if you may have multiple Intuit accounts by following the steps in the below help article.
How many Intuit accounts do I have with TurboTax?
TurboTax Online automatically saves your work as you progress through the tax interview. When you sign out your progress will be saved and you can sign back in and file your return at a later time. Even though you only use one email address, it is still possible that you have an additional account.
See this TurboTax FAQ here for assistance with accessing your prior year return.
If you still don't find your tax data in your account, please reach out to TurboTax Customer Support for additional assistance. Please see the following information here for more details.
Why do I have to pay to do my state tax. I bought TurboTax Deluxe.
Why do I have to pay to do my state tax, I bought TurboTax Deluxe at Costco?
@Edchic Are you using online Deluxe? We cannot tell from your post whether you are using online or the CD/download. If you are using online, then that is how it works--you pay for federal and you pay for the state return.
If you purchased the CD/download there is a $25 fee to e-file the state return even if the program included the software to prepare the state return.
What software did you use---and how much is it trying to charge you for?
