How can I find my old account

Hi, I am trying to locate my account that I created to do taxes last year. I know I did them through TurboTax because I have a confirmation email from last year detailing how to track my refund and that I can save a pdf version on my account page. However, when I use the methods suggested to locate my old account, the only account that appears is the new one I made this year to file my taxes. I accidentally made a new account thinking I was resetting the password for the old one, the email address and phone number are the same as they were for last years account. Please, any help at all would be appreciated I need last years tax return to finish filing this year. (Last year was my first year filing).

Yes, you may retrieve your old account using the user ID when you signed up in Turbo Tax.  Click forgot the password in Turbo Tax log in screen. if you forgot, then create a new one.

When I go through these steps it resets the password of the new account I made this year. I am unable to do these steps for my old account. It does not give me the option/ability to do that because the only account that appears is this years.

This did not solve my problem. It reset the password for the new account I created this year. I need to access the old account. It does not appear when I try to reset the password. I can confirm it is the correct email because I have a confirmation email from last year, so I know the account was created with the same email but it is like the account doesn’t exist anymore because it does not appear when I go through the reset password steps. @JoannaB2

How can I find my old account

Dear Sir,

I have an account with Turbo Tax: [PII removed}. But I cannot open it since I forgot the password. I tried to recover it several times, but I found my telephone number is no longer in service since the number was not a cell phone number. I am asking you how to put a new cell-phone number which you can contact me?

Thanks in advance,

Zheng [PII removed}

How can I find my old account

If you have a new computer, you cannot get your info from last year or any other previous year. If you have he same computer and are still having trouble, you can get the AGI I think they call it and get that amount from the IRS and file your taxes then. I hope I was able to help.

To access your current or prior year online tax returns sign onto the TurboTax website with the User ID you used to create the account - https://myturbotax.intuit.com/

Scroll down to the bottom of the screen and on the section Your tax returns & documents.  Click on the Year and Click on Download/print return (PDF)

How can I find my old account

 First LOG OUT of whatever TurboTax account you're logged into right now. Then use this TurboTax account recovery website to get a list of user ID's for an email address. Run the tool against any email addresses you may have used

If you used the Desktop CD/Download program then the only copy is on your computer and not saved or stored online.

How do I get into my old account that I file my taxes with last year

How can I find my old account

@Brittnayb12

  You have to access your own account and/or  print it for yourself using exactly the same account and user ID that you used when you prepared the return.

Start a 2023 return online and enter some personal information  so that the menu on the left opens up and lets you access your past year returns.

Many people have multiple TT accounts and forget how to access them.  Log out of the account you are in now.

Or did you use the desktop version of TurboTax?  If so, the files are on your own hard drive or any backup device you used like a flash drive.

You can get a free transcript from the IRS or for a fee of $43, an actual copy of your tax return.

SAVE YOUR TAX RETURN !

EVERY year before mid-October you should save a copy of your tax return as a pdf and print a copy of it for your records.  That way you will not be searching online frantically when you need it for a lender, FAFSA forms, your next tax return, etc.

NOTE:  TurboTax and the IRS save returns for seven years.  Returns older than seven years are purged.
