I am having the exact same issue, I purchase Turbo Tax every year because i like to do my taxes early...even though i have to pay. These software issues that need to be corrected need to be resolved in a timely manner, im not satisfied with this.
Did everyone enter their numbers manually as opposed to uploading the forms or connecting through your financial institution? I entered mine manually, maybe that is the issue?
@jwest21 ,
Yes did everything by hand, not connecting to any online service to auto sync.
Your situation might be unique. I put the scenario on the first post.
What is your exact scenario?
Super Simple
Sold primary residence in 2021 and bought another.
Also had a HELOC that we closed out when we sold the first house.
3- 1098's, very simple tax scenario.
Definitely onboard with you. Let's get some more visibility on this.
Could you please share this thread and there is another too on your Twitter and tag Intuit on it. Also on your LinkedIn and hashtag Intuit and TurboTax.
Some users here have started tagging this thread on Twitter and LinkedIn and I can search and see those feeds on Twitter and LinkedIn and I'm sure that the actual folks from Intuit (TT's parent company) can see it as well now.
That will help, since most companies outsource their telephone support to a call center who has scripted responses.
Can you double check what is on your worksheet.
You can go to forms and look for this sheet:
Since you sold primary residence and bought another, you should have Loan 1 and Loan 2 filled out at the very least. If not, then somehow you combined your 1098s which can cause error in calculations.
not combined, I have 3 different loans listed. All corresponding to their respective 1098s
still getting the error message.
TT agent said they have no resolution date in the system. They advised me to re-enter 098s and try again.
Entered 1098s again, still getting error message with Feb 17th date.
I am going to try uploading my 1098s as PDFs and see if that works. If I still can't get it to go through I will take my business elsewhere and request a refund.
@jwest21 ,
Oh ok, for some reason I thought by you manually entering it, the error went away, and I really wanted to understand how, so we can all do it.
But in the meanwhile, let's all put pressure on Intuit (TT's parent) by sharing this thread on Twitter and LinkedIn and tagging them.
I've been on the phone with 3 different TT people about this. ZERO help.
I did indeed send them a link to this discussion
Hey @jwest21 ,
Could you share the link here too. I had bought a desktop download version which is covered until the 60 day money back guarantee, so I want to go ahead get my money back.
I do taxes in my home and have been using TT for 20 years with no problems until now. I was with a client who refi when this came up. I can't file her taxes due to it. This is messing with my money more then you know as I could start losing clients due to this mess.
I called TT and of course had to leave my number for them to call back as it was a 5 to 10 minute wait. Then they transferred me to another department which was another 5 to 10 minute wait. The woman wanted to share screens to see if she could figure out what was going on. She had no idea what this was all about. Once, she seen for herself then she started asking and was told that I would get an email as soon as it was fixed. No date and no other information. I asked to speak to a supervisor which was another 5 to 10 minute wait for someone to pick up. A very nice lady answered and knew exactly what I was talking about. She in fact is in the same position as the rest of us waiting to get her taxes done due to refi. I told her about this discussion and told her how many different answers we are all getting, including to add the 2 1098's together and she couldn't believe people were being told this. I told her to check the discussion boards and she will see it. She did while I was on the phone. Of course no estimated date as they are waiting for approval. Every time TT makes another spreadsheet or updates one it must go through approval-not sure who approves it but they have to go through it each time, which is why they can't give us an estimated date. She checks every day she goes into work to see if it has changed. She did offer me a small discount after the worksheet is fixed and I can call back to get that. My case#[phone number removed] I will have to explain all of this to my client and hopefully won't lose her business.

If you are using the TurboTax personal editions and you are a paid tax preparer then you are in violation of the TurboTax license agreement.
As paid tax preparer you can use the Intuit Professional editions - https://proconnect.intuit.com/
