To access your prior year online tax returns sign onto the TurboTax website with the User ID you used to create the account - https://myturbotax.intuit.com/
Scroll down to the section Your tax returns & documents. Click on the Year and Click on Download/print return (PDF)
If you used the desktop CD/Download editions installed on your computer, the only copy of your tax data file and any PDF's will be on the computer where the return was created. TurboTax does not store online any returns completed using the desktop editions.
Or go to this IRS website for free federal tax return transcripts - https://www.irs.gov/individuals/get-transcript
For a fee of $43 you can get a complete federal tax return from the IRS by completing Form 4506 - http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/f4506.pdf

If you're not finding prior Online returns in that account, then you may have multiple accounts without realizing it. I'll tell you how to troubleshoot that below.
This answer assumes your prior returns were prepared in Online TurboTax. I've posted below how to normally get it, and also how to look for multiple accounts, if necessary. Any return prepared in desktop software will not be in an online account.
First see this:
FAQ: How do I access my prior year return?
Log in and go to the Tax Home. Scroll down the Tax Home page to the section "Your Tax Returns & Documents." Expand that section and choose the tax year 2020. Then you can choose to "Download/print the PDF".
If you do all that, but there's no evidence of the prior returns in that section "Your Tax Returns & Documents", then you likely have multiple accounts and signed into the wrong one. Many people end up with multiple accounts.
You can have up to 5 accounts that use the same email address for notification purposes. A User ID may be an email address, but it doesn't have to be. It might be only part of an email address, or it can be anything at all.
To get a list of your User IDs, reset password, and recover account access, etc., you can use the tool at the link below. When using the Account Recovery tool, try using your phone number first if you can still access it. After that, if necessary, then run the tool on your email address(es) you can access.
NOTE: Before running the account recovery tool below, log out of all Intuit accounts including this user forum, or you might end up in a loop. Then clear your browser Internet cache, close your browser, then reopen it, and go to the link below. You may wish to copy this link so you can paste it into the new browser session.
https://myturbotax.intuit.com/account-recovery
If still no luck after running that on your phone number you can still access and email address(es) that you can access, here's another method:
Go back to the tool again, but this time leave the data field blank, scroll down a bit, then choose the small blue link that says "Try something else", and it will look you up by SSN and other parameters.
The forms are all just gone for 2021. I’ve spent hours now trying to find them. This product is worthless. I need my tax forms and they are just gone. No linked accounts. Not in desktop. They want me to pay money to save the documents for next year. They can take this worthless, dishonest product and shove it where the sun doesn’t shine. I now have to pay and be on hold with the state agencies to get my tax forms. Hours of time lost on what should be a simple task and what shouldn’t cost me $30 to do: save the tax forms.
Sorry you're having trouble. This is a user community forum, not a direct route to TurboTax Support. Free Edition doesn't have phone support without paying, but I'll tell you below how to contact them via Twitter or Facebook for free.
In your last comment, you specifically mentioned "state tax agencies." Is it only your state return that is missing? Are you seeing a 2021 PDF, and it only has the Federal return, but not the state return? If so, that's easier to solve.
Or are you not seeing any 2021 return PDF at all? If you're seeing your Federal return in the PDF, but the state return is not in the PDF, we can tell you another way to get the return PDF that has both.
If you're not finding any 2021 return at all in your account, the most common cause of a missing Online 2021 return is multiple accounts, and thus signing into the wrong account. If you sign into the correct account in which you prepared the Online return, you should arrive at the Tax Home, where it should be obvious that a 2021 return was prepared and provides some summary info, A PDF can be downloaded in the section "Your Tax Returns & Documents." If that PDF is there, but only has a Federal return and no state return, we can tell you another way to get the complete PDF.
If there's no evidence of a 2021 Online return at all in that account, then most likely you have multiple accounts. In my previous answer I told you how to use the Account Recovery tool by running it on your phone number that is in your account profile (if you still have the same phone number), or your email address (if you can still access it). Before using the Account Recovery tool, however, you have to clear your browser as I mentioned in bold type in my previous comment.
If that wasn't successful, I also provided a second method previously which does not use the Account Recovery tool. On the Account Recovery tool page, do not enter anything. There should be a blue link to "Try Something Else." Click that link, and then it looks up all your accounts by SSN and other parameters.
Free Edition doesn't have phone support. If you're using Free Edition, you can upgrade and pay for PLUS (29.99) to have phone support, or you can contact TurboTax Support for free using messaging at Twitter or Facebook during business hours.

None of this is working. It won't recognize my SSN, my date of birth, etc. to pull up any other account by other emails, my phone number. Nothing. It is making me do the 2021 forms all over again. I just left this product a bad review. This is horrible.

Are you sure you used the TurboTax online editions? If you used the TurboTax desktop editions installed on a personal computer TurboTax does store online any desktop edition tax data.

Yes, I have been trying over and over and over and over downloading the software (which I stupidly got off of Amazon; never ever doing that again), and toggling between online and desktop. It is nowhere to be found. This is a useless pile of crap.

I'm sorry, but I don't know what all you are doing. We're not understanding your situation in this user community forum. Underneath your original question it shows you are using Online Free Edition. Now all of a sudden you mention the downloaded software purchased from Amazon. There is no "toggling" between desktop software and Online software because they are completely separate products. The 2 versions are not interchangeable and do not communicate with each other.
It's not clear what product you used to prepare your 2021 return originally. If you prepared your return using desktop software, there should be a file on your computer ending in *.tax2021 and nothing would be in Online TurboTax. If you prepared the desktop software to prepare the return, search your entire computer system for a file ending in *.tax2021 and also check the Recycle Bin.
All my previous answers above about how to use the Account Recovery tool were for Online TurboTax (the web version) since Online Free Edition is the product displayed underneath your original question. In any case, since you have at some point bought the downloaded software, you do at least now have phone support . You can talk to TurboTax Support, because the desktop product purchase does qualify you for phone support privilege. You would likely be better-served to talk to someone from TurboTax in a live discussion so they can question you in realtime to figure out what all you are referring to.
Here's how you can phone them during business hours. I don't know if they are open this weekend or not. Since the extended filing deadline is coming up, they might be open this weekend.
The reason you’re confused is because the people above said I have multiple accounts and to look them up, trying to locate the 2021 tax forms. I may (or for sure now do) have multiple accounts because I am desperate to find the tax forms for 2021. I now have an online account, free, and had the desktop version. The files are NOWHERE associated with the desk top version. I tried calling a phone number for TurboTax and couldn’t get through. I need my tax forms for a court process. I really need them and as a consumer, I should not have to struggle for a whole week looking and looking for these forms. I tried to even verify I filed the taxes in TurboTax and it won’t do that either. Luckily, I have an email showing I filed, or I would be in even worse do-do. It gives an error message saying I can’t even verify I filed without my SSN, but it also won’t allow me to verify with that SSN. I’m not a computer genius, but whoever designed this software needs to be not only fired, but somehow to be inflicted with the torture I have had this week trying to complete what should be a simple task to log in and see 2021 tax returns.
@Anonymous
Sorry you're having trouble, and I know it's frustrating. It's becoming more clear what product you used. If you used 2021 desktop software to prepare your 2021 return, an Online account will not be involved. A desktop return is all handled locally on your computer. So if you DID use the desktop software to prepare and file the return, you can completely ignore any references above to Online TurboTax and online accounts. Sorry if I confused things.
If you used the 2021 desktop software to prepare the return, TurboTax saves it on your computer as a *.tax2021 data file. I don't know if you are using Mac or Windows, but in the Windows version of the desktop software, the default directory where the file would be saved is the \Documents\TurboTax folder, but it could be in another location, depending on where it was saved.
If you haven't already done so, then search your entire computer system for any file ending with the
*.tax2021 file extension. Also check the Recycle Bin.
If you find the *.tax2021 data file, then launch your 2021 TurboTax software. At the main landing screen, open the *.tax2021 data file. Once the return is open you should be able to save it as a PDF for viewing/printing.
If you can't find the data file, another option is to download a free tax transcript at the IRS website, if you have or can establish an IRS account.
https://www.irs.gov/individuals/get-transcript
A transcript is a shortened version of the return but contains the info in the return. While a transcript may be accepted by many organizations such as mortgage companies, student loan offices, etc., I don't know if your court case would accept a transcript or not. And it is only a Federal transcript and doesn't include any state return information.
A copy of the actual Federal return from the IRS costs $43 and takes several weeks.
Otherwise, I can't think of anything else to add, other than to continue trying to reach the folks at TurboTax Support during business hours to see if they can assist you.

It seems you used the Desktop CD/Download program. are you on Windows or Mac? Can you start the program? When you go up to File-Open doesn't your return show up in the box?
Your tax return file ends in .tax2019, .tax2020, .tax2021 etc. Search your computer for it. Check the Recycle Bin or Trash. Check in One Drive, etc. it should be in your Documents then in the Turbo Tax folder. Check your backups. Also if you have multiple Windows user accounts, log into each one and do the search for the *.tax2021 data file from within each one and checking the Recycle Bin in each one.
If you don't have the main .tax file you might have one that starts with a Tilde sign ~ like "~your name.tax2021". That file is if your computer crashes or your real file gets lost or deleted or corrupt so you can restore it.
See this post (scroll down) he found his files in the Administrator account
Don't know if this will help any Turbo Tax users but one Quicken user found them......
What I found was that my Quicken Data files ended up in the One-drive Recycle bin. Not sure how, but I found them there. I placed the files back onto the laptop and brought the files into Quicken and now have all my data back.
Thank you again and especially for the patience. The form (Hawaii state form) is just gone. It is not saved the way you noted on my desktop. I called and they were only able to provide me with a "submission ID," which actually did not help for dealing with the state of Hawaii. I filled out a form and mailed it "snail mail" to Hawaii and perhaps a month later, I will get the copy of my form. I thought I had it in the email that Turbotax sends when the form gets submitted, but it was not attached to that email, either. Lesson learned. I will just fill it out with pen and ink and save a paper copy I guess next time. :(
The state return should be in the same file as federal. Can you open your return in the program? Have you ever switched to Forms mode and looked around? I think you get separate emails for federal and state when you efile. 2 each, the first email confirming you submitted it and a second email saying if it was Accepted or Rejected. And you can check inside the program, For the Desktop program you have to check the filing status inside the program. Open your return and go up to menu item
File > Electronic Filing > Check Electronic Filing Status
Thank you: desktop version had no way to verify I had filed. I could click it, but it said I had to verify a SSN, but there was no where to insert my SSN. It was nonsensical. I could get to forms mode, but there were no forms and it started over, trying to make me all new 2021 forms.
