What does "Your tax return is still being processed. A refund date will be provided when available." Exactly mean?

There was an issue with mine and I just got the rest of mine for last year at the end of February.  I filed on the 1st of February for this year and got mine back already.  I did not use Turbo Tax this year.  I went to an outside tax service and made sure it was right.  Good luck...

My bank info still hasn't been updated and they plan to send my stimulus payment tomorrow yet again to a closed account.

Anyone have any positive updates? Also does anyone know if Turbo Tax has an official channel to request a refund for their products? Since its been over a month since my return was accepted I would like to request a refund of the TT fees.

TurboTax gives you an estimated date for receiving your refund based on a 21 day average from your date of acceptance, but it can take longer.  “21 days”  is not a promise from TurboTax or the IRS.   Many refunds are taking longer during the pandemic.  The IRS is backlogged —-they are still trying to process millions of 2019 returns; they received millions of e-filed on the day they opened for 2020 returns, and now they are burdened with sending out another round of stimulus checks.   

Some delays are resulting from incorrect amounts that folks entered for stimulus checks they received.   Many people have been confused by the recovery rebate credit and completed it incorrectly.  The IRS may delay your refund while they cross-check to see what you received.

First, check your e-file status to see if your return was accepted:

Once your federal return has been accepted by the IRS, only the IRS has any control.  TurboTax does not receive any updates from the IRS. Your ONLY source of information about your refund now is the IRS.

You need your filing status, your Social Security number and the exact amount  (line 34of your 2020 Form 1040) of your federal refund to track your Federal refund:

Where did TurboTax indicate to users of its software that there would be delays? If TurboTax knew that there would be backlogs of the processing of returns why did it not indicate this to early filers?

I went through that.  They forgot to add a form for the children and my taxes went in incomplete.  It cost me a 60 day review, they sent the form to me and I sent it back then the IRS closed for months because of COVID.  I ended up amending my tax return in July.  but through lots of talks with them they said they would refund me and not take the money from my bank but did anyway.  It took 2 months to get it back.  You have to call them and speak to someone live.  Call intuit's number.  Talk to a rep and tell them of your concern.

Mine was accepted on February 12th and went from the bars (received) to a message: 

Your tax return is still being processed.  A refund date will be provided when available.  it has been like this now for over 3 weeks.  I am a tax preparer and others accepted after this date has been received.  I just wish I knew what to tell clients they are panicking because their bars are no longer showing just a message.  And some of these families need this money for essentials Mortgages, Utilities etc.  Such a lot going on!

Did you or any of your clients claim the Recovery Rebate Credit? I tried my Local Tax Advocate and National Tax advocate. Both sent me to automated messages that instructed me to "Leave your contact information and we will call you". 

Whilst looking at the IRS Fiscal Year 2020 Annual Assessment report, I discovered that the IRS collected 3.6 Trillion dollars in Federal Tax payments and paid out 456 Billion in refunds for fiscal year 2019. The IRS also spent 85 million on an ECM solution(Case management software) before realizing the solution was inadequate. This explains why their various customer facing tools are so confusing and generally poor.  

Its been 5 weeks since my return was "Accepted" and still in Refund limbo.
