@Cequent60 There are multiple replies already in this thread that tell you how to get a copy of your prior year tax return.
You have to access your own account and/or print it for yourself using exactly the same account and user ID that you used when you prepared the return.
Many people have multiple TT accounts and forget how to access them. Log out of the account you are in now.

Or did you use the desktop version of TurboTax? If so, the files are on your own hard drive or any backup device you used like a flash drive.

i need a copy of my 2020 tax return with the turbo tax header on it
@Nelly12880 Your actual Form 1040 will not have a TurboTax header on it. Only the page with filing instructions and the electronic postmark will have the TT header.

To access your prior year online tax returns sign onto the TurboTax website with the User ID you used to create the account - https://myturbotax.intuit.com/
Scroll down to the section Your tax returns & documents. Click on the Year and Click on Download/print return (PDF)
If you used the desktop CD/Download editions installed on your computer, the only copy of your tax data file and any PDF's will be on the computer where the return was created. TurboTax does not store online any returns completed using the desktop editions.
Or go to this IRS website for free federal tax return transcripts - https://www.irs.gov/individuals/get-transcript
For a fee of $43 you can get a complete federal tax return from the IRS by completing Form 4506 - http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/f4506.pdf
How can I get a copy of my 2020 tax return I need it for the IRS to release my refund

How to Access prior year online returns
https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/prior-year-return/help/how-do-i-access-my-prior-year-return/00/270...
If you can't get the side menus to open up to access the prior year..... You need to start entering some basic Personal Info in 2022 for the side menu to open up. Just continue a little ways into 2022. I had to go though about 12 screens.
If you used the Desktop CD/Download program then the only copy is on your computer and not saved or stored online. So you need to make and keep your own backups.
Or request a transcript from the IRS

Did my 2022 taxes get submitted.
@Elizabeth48 No one in the user forum can check to see if your 2022 return was filed. You have to look for yourself. Did you e-file it last year before the deadline in 2023? What does it say in your account? Does it say the return was "accepted," "rejected", "printed," or "ready to mail?" If it says anything other than "accepted", it was not filed
Did you e-file? Did you click a big orange button that said “Transmit my returns now?”
When you e-file your federal return you will receive two emails from TurboTax. The first one will say that your return was submitted. The second email will tell you if your federal return was accepted or rejected. If you e-filed a state return, there will be a third email to tell you if the state accepted or rejected your state return.
First, check your e-file status to see if your return was accepted:
https://turbotax.intuit.com/tax-tools/efile-status-lookup/
If the IRS accepted it, what does it say here?
If you find out that your 2022 return was not filed successfully, you can still file it, but it has to be filed by mail. E-filing is permanently closed for 2022 returns. It can be filed if you print it, sign and date it in ink, and mail it in.
When you mail a tax return, you need to attach any documents showing tax withheld, such as your W-2’s or any 1099’s. Use a mailing service that will track it, such as UPS or certified mail so you will know the IRS/state received the return.
Federal and state returns must be in separate envelopes and they are mailed to different addresses. Read the mailing instructions that print with your tax return carefully so you mail them to the right addresses.
I need my record from the last time i file my taxes
I lost my phone with all my information in
2020 is no longer accessible through Turbotax. only the current year (2024) and the 3 prior years (2021-2023). even if accessible the return does not contain a Turbotax header. at best there are filing instructions with "Turbotax" on it
if you have access to the xxx.tax2020 file, there is a web service unrelated to Turbotax that can print out your return from the file
you can get a copy of your filed return from the IRS by filing form 4506 and paying a $30 fee (again no Turbotax header)
https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/f4506.pdf
for free you can get a transcript by mail or by registering on the IRS website (ID.ME)and downloading a copy of your tax return transcript. However, the download is not available if the file is too large.
by mail use form 4506-t
https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/f4506t.pdf
registering for ID.ME
