I submitted my taxes over 2 months ago and still haven’t received my refund or a response from you. Please advise
Did you efile or mail your return? They just started processing mailed returns that have been stacking up. See this IRS page for the latest information
https://www.irs.gov/newsroom/irs-operations-during-covid-19-mission-critical-functions-continue
If you efiled....Was your return Accepted? First double check your efile status here
https://turbotax.intuit.com/tax-tools/efile-status-lookup/
When you efile you get back 2 emails. The first email only confirms the transmission. The second email says if the IRS (or state) Accepted or Rejected your efile.
Then only the IRS can tell you. IRS Where's my refund https://www.irs.gov/refunds/
Make sure you are using the refund amount from your actual federal tax return and not the combined amount Turbo Tax showed you at the end. That was for federal and state combined.
When you log into your account you should also see the status and if it was Accepted or Rejected, Started, Printed, Ready to Mail, etc. what does it say?
When will you get your refund,

I filed on February 7 and I’m still waiting
According to this IRS update as of April 30th:
The IRS is now opening mail within normal timeframes. The IRS has also made significant progress in processing prior year returns. As of April 23, 2021, we had 1.3 million individual tax returns received prior to 2021 in the processing pipeline. Including current year returns, as of April 23, 2021, we had 16.9 million unprocessed individual returns in the pipeline. Unprocessed returns include those requiring correction to the Recovery Rebate Credit amount or validation of 2019 income used to figure the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) and Additional Child Tax Credit (ACTC). This work does not require us to correspond with taxpayers but does require special handling by an IRS employee so, in these instances, it is taking the IRS more than 21 days to issue any related refund. If, as a result, a correction is made to any RRC, EITC or ACTC claimed on the return, the IRS will send taxpayers an explanation. Taxpayers are encouraged to continue to check Where’s My Refund? for their personalized refund status and can review Tax Season Refund Frequently Asked Questions.
How long you may have to wait: The IRS understands the importance of timely processing of tax returns and refund issuance. We are processing returns received over the summer and fall in 2020 due to the extended July 15, 2020 tax filing due date. While the majority of 2019 refund returns have been processed, in some cases, we are processing tax returns that were mailed with a payment even though payment associated with these returns have been processed by the IRS. However, we are rerouting tax returns and taxpayer correspondence from locations that are behind to locations where more staff is available, and we are taking other actions to minimize any delays. Tax returns are opened in the order received. As the return is processed, it may be delayed because it has a mistake including errors concerning the Recovery Rebate Credit, is missing information, or there is suspected identity theft or fraud. If we can fix it without contacting you, we will. If we need more information or need you to verify that it was you who sent the tax return, we will write you a letter. The resolution of these issues depends on how quickly and accurately you respond, and the ability of IRS staff trained and working under social distancing requirements to complete the processing of your return.
What you should do: If you filed electronically and received an acknowledgement, you do not need to take any further action other than promptly responding to any requests for information. If you filed on paper, check Where’s my refund? If it tells you we have received your return or are processing or reviewing it, we are processing your return, but it may be under review. We’re working hard to get through the backlog. Please don’t file a second tax return or contact the IRS about the status of your return.
I haven’t received my federal tax return. IRS says no record of it
@Rebellewil How long ago did you file your tax return? Did you e-file or mail it? It is taking a very long time (months) for the backlogged IRS to process returns.
Did you e-file? Did you click a big orange button that said “Transmit my returns now?”
When you e-file your federal return you will receive two emails from TurboTax. The first one will say that your return was submitted. The second email will tell you if your federal return was accepted or rejected. If you e-filed a state return, there will be a third email to tell you if the state accepted or rejected your state return.
First, check your e-file status to see if your return was accepted:
https://turbotax.intuit.com/tax-tools/efile-status-lookup/
If the IRS accepted it, what does it say here?
Or does your account say “Ready to Mail?”
Note: If it says “Ready to Mail” or “Printed” that means YOU have to mail it yourself. TurboTax does not mail your tax return for you.

Did you e-file your tax return and was it accepted?
You complete your tax return by finishing all 3 Steps in the File section. In Step 3, to e-file your tax return, you must click on the large Orange button labeled "Transmit my returns now".
After completing the File section and e-filing your tax return you will receive two emails from TurboTax. The first email when your tax return was transmitted and the second email when the tax return has either been accepted or rejected.
If the tax return was Accepted by the IRS you Must enter Exactly on the IRS tax refund status website your Social Security number, Filing Status and the whole dollar amount of the federal tax refund as entered on the Federal tax return Form 1040.
To access your prior year online tax returns sign onto the TurboTax website with the User ID you used to create the account - https://myturbotax.intuit.com/
Scroll down to the section Your tax returns & documents. Click on the Year and Click on Download/print return (PDF)
If the tax return as Rejected by the IRS then you will have to print , sign, date and mail the return to the IRS.
A 2020 tax return can only be printed and mailed, it cannot be e-filed.
Print, sign, date and mail the tax return to the IRS. Include with the mailed return any forms W-2 and 1099 which have taxes withheld. Go to this IRS website for mailing addresses - https://www.irs.gov/filing/where-to-file-paper-tax-returns-with-or-without-a-payment
There are no penalties for filing a tax return after the due date if filing for a tax refund or there are no taxes owed.
I file my refund on February 07, 2022 and since my refund been on processing and it's been over a month and it haven't change can someone one please help me out. I called and checked the IRS website and nothing and when ilI call the IRS number theirs is no help it just hangs up on me and I went to the IRS office and they said they can't help me I already did everything. Can someone help me out with this problem.
Sorry only the IRS can tell you when they will send it. The IRS is taking a very long time. I think they are still behind process 2020 returns. Just be patient and keep waiting.
It went to the wrong account, I have the right account number, can you help me?
Turbo Tax was the one that sent my check direct deposit it just went to the wrong account
Turbo Tax doesn't send your refund. Turbo Tax doesn't touch your refund. Once they transmitted your return to the IRS they are done with their part.
If the bank rejects the deposit the IRS will mail a check to the address on your return.
Don't bother to call the IRS Hot Line as I have been calling them since last June. My 2020 1040X was received by the IRS on 5/26/21 and was filed on 6/1/21 and the message is still the same, We are sorry for the inconvenience. Don't bother contacting you congressman as mine informed me that the IRS was not accepting any more complaint files. BTW, the reason I had to file a 1040X was because TURBO-TAX entered the same dividend twice on my 1040-SR, so don't trust all their checks and double checks because you're the one who suffers. Thanks for reading my rant.
I efiled 3 months ago and have not gotten my refund?
The best place to find information about the status of your tax return/refund is the IRS Where's My Refund? site. The site is updated daily usually in the evening hours. You can also call the WMR Hotline at 800-829-1954 for updated status. Please see the TurboTax Help Article: When will I get my IRS refund? for more information. If after 21 days from acceptance of your return you do not have your tax refund, you will need to contact the IRS. Please see the TurboTax help article for more information: What if my IRS refund is taking longer than 21 days?
