AGI gross income from 2020 or self select PIN from last year problem

You do not need your PIN for the prior tax year. You can enter any 5 digit PIN. However, you must have the 2019 AGI if you filed a 2019 tax return. The 2019 AGI is on the 2019 Federal Tax Return Form 1040 Line 8b.
If the IRS rejects your 2020 tax return for the 2019 AGI then enter a 0 (zero) for the 2019 AGI and e-file the 2020 tax return again.
Speciffically AGII - but I confirmed it and it was correct. How do I proceed?
If it was rejected for AGI—-be aware that many 2019 returns took so long for the IRS to process that your 2019 AGI might not be in the IRS system. Try using zero instead.
If filing with zero is rejected then file again but select the option that you did not file last year. The IRS does not see that question and it will allow you to e-file with no AGI question.
Or—-if you filed as a “non-filer” just to get the stimulus check on a 2019 return, try using $1 as the AGI.

If that does not work and you still cannot e-file, then print, sign, and mail your tax return.
I have not received my 2020 taxes! I called IRS was told that the1099 didn’t match the information that they had! Please advise
I’m still showing excepted. I can’t get in to fix anything because the irs hasn’t sent anything back
Our joint return keeps being rejected by efile stating my husband's AGI is not shown but it states what mine is. How can the numbers be different. I tried entering 0 and that didn't work either. Turbo, what is wrong?

Did you file the 2019 tax return as Married Filing Jointly? If so, the 2019 AGI will be the same for the both of you.
If you have entered the correct 2019 AGI and the IRS continues to reject the tax return you will have to print and mail the return.

I am not sure why on this post it states to enter "0" it will not let you or entering "00000". I did get my transcript and my AGI is correct the only difference is I mailed it last year and no PIN was included. It seems I am not the only one that is happening too. I also requested the PIN on file and it is a 6 digit number and Turbo Tax only has a 5 digit. What do you do enter the first 5 or last 5? Is my only option mail. I have called multiple times to the IRS and the call volume is to high and states I need to call back. I start calling when they open???
Any help would be appreciated.

To enter a 6 digit IP PIN
Or enter ip pin in the Search box located in the upper right of the program screen. Click on Jump to ip pin
@admqamm If you mailed 2019 (and even if you efiled) it took a long time for the IRS to open the mail and process it. So the AGI did not get entered into the IRS system in time. So try entering 0 for the AGI (not for the pin).

If you can’t get it to efile you will have to print and mail it.

Be sure to attach copies of your W2s and any 1099s that have withholding on them. You have to mail federal and state in separate envelopes because they go to different places. Get a tracking number from the post office when you mail them for proof of filing.

I mail in my 2020 federal Tax return on April 16,2021. I still have not received it. Called IRS claims they cannot tell me anything on the refund. I need help on this.
Thank You,
Les Mundel
Tax returns are taking a LONG time this year. Especially mailed returns. Might be months.
You are not alone. Millions are still waiting. Turbo Tax only gives you an estimated date. The IRS usually pays most refunds within 21 days. But these are not normal times. This year is taking the IRS longer to send the refunds. There are millions more people filing returns to get the Stimulus payment.

On 5/17/21, I received two emails from you. The first one started as "Way to go, Jerry.. You filed your 2020 taxes". This was followed by the returns you prepared for me. I have now been notified by IRS that this return was rejected. I have no idea about the rejection. I do not know how to respond. I am hoping you will make a determination and help me solve this problem.
I notice that the form you filed showed my total amount of rental income, but did not list expenses.
