Did you ever get this issue resolved? I am literally in the same exact boat right now. I owe, and when I try to file by mail it won't let me! Thank you so much!

When I am at the step to "file", I initially have the option to choose "file by mail" or "I want to e-file".
After I click on "file by mail" it takes me to the next step, which says "We've determined the easiest way to file your taxes" and then underneath it it says "e-file" and I can either click the button next to it that says "change" or click the "continue" button at the bottom of the screen.
If I click on "change" my only options are to select "e-file" or "I'm not ready to e-file".
If I click on "I'm not ready to e-file" it takes me to a screen that says "file later".
Then if I click on "continue" a message pops up that says "To move on, you must choose either E-file or File by mail for at least one of your returns."
So I am literally in a never ending loop that will NEVER allow me to file by mail.
Could you please help me as my only option is to file by mail because I live abroad and my husband doesn't have a social security number because he is a British citizen.

@Morejoy If the File by mail option isn’t available, you may have selected to pay your TurboTax fees through your tax refund. In order to file by mail, you’ll need to instead pay with a credit or debit card. For more information, please visit the Help Article below.
How do I print and mail my return in TurboTax Online?
I didn't select to pay with my refund as I in fact owe nearly $500 and already paid for it, but I don't know if it went through.
@Morejoy Are you using the desktop software or are you preparing your return online? Please respond to this thread for further assistance.
I am using turbo tax online. And I just checked and I do not have it set to take it out of my refund- it is set to take it out of my credit card

Will all do respect, I am not going to pay for one-to-one assistance for getting an answer to something that should already be covered in the level that I paid for. I should not have to pay for there being a glitch in the Turbotax system.
Could you please guide me in a different, free, direction to get this sorted before they are late, please.

For assistance with any billing issues, you must talk to someone in Customer Service. We do not have access to your account in this public forum. If you are in Plus or Deluxe, that service is available at no cost. But, if you have not chosen one of these options, then you can clear and start over. We do not have access within this public forum to do this for you.
Again, the issue that I need assistance with, is something that is a problem on YOUR end, not mine. I simply just need a button that allows me to print my taxes- which is a basic function, that I should not have to pay to upgrade my service to do so. And you are the second Turbotax representative that has gave me that suggestion. It is not something I should have to pay extra for. Can I call the [phone number removed] number and get help this way? Thank you
Just to reiterate- My issue has nothing to do with billing.
