I feel that Turbotax is at fault for not alerting me that it was not filed. Because I got a confirmation of payment and I inputted all of my information to you, I believe that what may have happened is that when i was sent to the quickbooks page, I was taken away from my return prematurely by your ad,.
I need your help to file NOW.
What do I print, and how will you help me avoid any penalties that I believe YOU are responsible for.

I have an exactly the same problem for 2018. I did not notice sooner because I had to pay more tax and sent a check to IRS and they cashed it. I tried to call TurboTax but I did not signed up live support so nobody would talk to me. I will never use TurboTax nor recommend it to anyone.
For both of you. Just paying the Turbo TX fees does not file the return. You had to continue on through the File tab through the 3 steps and hit the big orange Transmit Returns Now button.
Then when you efile you get back 2 emails. The first email only confirms the transmission. The second email says if the IRS (or state) Accepted or Rejected your efile.
Maybe you didn't finish filing it or it Rejected. When you log into your account you should also see the status and if it was Accepted or Rejected, Started, Printed, Ready to Mail, etc. what does it say?
It simply says that my return status is printed, for both state and federal. I don't remember selecting the mail in option, if that's what this implies. Either way I imagine my only option is to print and mail them to the IRS(?) but I have no idea how to do that since the instructions vary each year (good grief) and it was my first year doing taxes.
You added on to someone else's thread. Is your question about a 2018 return, too? If so, "printed" means you did not file it.
“Ready to mail”or “Printed” means that your tax return has not been filed. Either you could not e-file for some reason , or you chose to file by mail. OR if you really did already mail your return, the software does not have any way to know that you put your return in an envelope and took it to a mailbox, so it will always say “ready to mail” in your online account.
If this was for 2018:
If you already paid for your online software you can ask customer support for a download of the desktop software.

If you are getting a refund, there is no penalty for filing late. If you owe tax due, then file and pay the amount due as shown on the Form 1040, but expect a bill later from the IRS for the penalty and interest you will owe. Only the IRS will calculate this—TurboTax will not calculate it.
If your question is about your 2019 return, post back for some other ideas on what to do.
Here's the instructions for you to change to E-file when using the "Online" software (for 2019 taxes, not 2018):
