@shoelayse For some low income folks, ....Read the following on who qualified... More than 230,000 lower-income Oregon households to receive $600 payments - OPB and State of Oregon: Individuals - One-Time Assistance Payments ______________________ But TTX wouldn't be involved with that.....it sounds like it will be sent by the OR DOR based on whatever you already filed last year for 2020 state taxes

Yeah, I had a picture of the section of the NY "Information Worksheet" which showed the TTX section for NY quarterly estimates D.Debit setup (below, but not fully filled out yet)....but I didn't want to get into an involved handwaving discussion on how to get it to print out in the PDF file if the User happened to be using the "Online" software (Add a state...yadda yadda yadda, print with all woksheets). _________________ I like EFTPS too, but years ago, when I set it up, it took a month or so to get it setup initially, with snail-mailed confirmation PIN sent back to me....not sure what the registration procedure is now though...they might have streamlined it more. ___________________________________________________________________________

OK...nutshell...assuming it is all as W-2 income 1) As a resident of CO, CO will calculate a tax on ALL your income from everywhere...even if WA doesn't tax it. 2) To avoid double taxation, CO will then allow a tax credit for any taxes you had to pay to another state (like Oregon)....but will only allow a credit "up-to" what CO would have taxed the same $$. SO you get taxed by CO on any WA income, and get at least a partial credit for any taxes you had to pay to OR. 3) The company "Should" only withhold OR taxes for the time you physically are working in Oregon...and at no other time. Doesn't mean they won't foul up...depends on how good their payroll department is. 4) IF...if they can withhold CO taxes for the time you are physically working outside of OR...great...but if they are not registered with CO to do that, they may not be able to do so, and you may need to set up CO estimated tax payments yourself for some of your income to get it prepaid and avoid any CO tax penalties. 5) at tax time, you must fully full in federal income tax forms first, then the non-resident state (Oregon) to calcualte the appropriate OR nonresident tax.......and CO tax return last.

You don't necessarily have to call the IRS. Not much they could do about it anyhow (if you can even get thru) ...just make a double/triple payment now and take what comes. Or, if you/spouse are getting W-2 income, increase your Federal tax withholding at your employers...and that may overcome any penalty being applied (W-2 Fed tax withholding is assumed to have been done evenly over the year...even when it isn't). ___________________ Also, I haven't seen anywhere that 2022 2nd quarter estimates are delayed until 15 June...July. I'm pretty sure it was still June 15th 2022. (For 2020 estimates...2nd quarter was delayed until July 15th). But maybe someone else knows better.

@mtiede Yeah, you have to set up those FEDeral quarterly estimates outside of TTX...other than perhaps printing out vouchers if you don't pay them Online separately at the IRS's DirectPay website. ______________________ For NY, you should download a new PDF copy of your tax file, and check the NY Electronic filing instructions sheet...it should show what/when you had the NY payments set up for. Here's one printout I saw from back in 2017 for NY estimated payments (when pre-arranged properly, but only for the final two quarters):

@xmasbaby0 I seem to recall that NY did allow setting up d.debit of the next year's quarterly estimates with the submission of the e-filed "NY" tax return thru TTx. But that's only for the NY state quarterly estimates (California might too?...don't recall for sure on that one) For Fed/IRS you have to do it separately form the tax return submission.

OF course, the form 8936 for 2022 taxes may change before year end...with different lines...((or even different credit (if legislated...)) But the actual instructions are here for the 2021 form 8936, if you haven't accessed them already: Instructions for Form 8936 (01/2022) | Internal Revenue Service (irs.gov)

Correct. The form 8936 will have a date put in service that you will enter into the 2022 tax software next spring, along with the VIN and other information.....that will ID the quarter you bought it. The Credit doesn't actually drop immediately once the 200,000 vehicle limit is reached......there is another 2 quarters that the full credit is available for people who purchase later....then it starts dropping. Federal tax credits will soon be phased out for Toyota EV customers in the US - Electrek
