@cjalmon11 Please try the steps in the TurboTax FAQ TurboTax 2019 and TurboTax 2020 requests license activation at every launch to see if it resolves the issue. If they do not, please reach out to TurboTax Customer Support for assistance.
The resolution change (to 800 X 600) worked. Thank you!
Screen Resolution Change did not work for me either. My computer is a Dell purchased Oct 2020. I have a work laptop that I have had for 2+ years and Turbo Tax does activate on that machine. I'm not thrilled about doing my taxes on my work computer and hope Intuit fixes the issue soon. I spent 3+ hours working with support, the consistent suggestion was to return the CD to the retailer and get a new one, such a joke! This will probably be my last year with TurboTax.
Have you checked to ensure your system is meeting the requirements listed here?
I purchased a new Windows 10 laptop in Nov 2020 just so I could still use Turbo Tax. My old laptop, that I have been using for years, was Windows 7. The new one is an upper level Dell that has more than I actually need for anything I run. But Turbo Tax It's Deductible screens won't work when trying to download directly to Turbo Tax, even with the change to the Display resolution as recommended by others.

Try this -
Close the TurboTax program, save your work.
Right click on the TurboTax icon
Click on Properties
Click on the Compatibility tab
Check the box Run this program as an Administrator
Click on Apply and then on OK
Start the TurboTax program and see if the problem still exists
Didn't make a difference, good ideas though
If TurboTax needs more than this, there is a much bigger problem

You the best. Fixed the problem. Whole bunches of cheers!!!!
Changing screen resolution to lowest setting allowed me to activate. You can then change the resolution back to original setting
Thank you, thank you !! I also had just purchased a new computer and could not believe that I got to the activation code and it would not take it. Your solution about changing the resolution worked like a charm !!
Glad it worked for you.
I run a Dell All In One. Windows 10 version 1909.
I tried a bunch of things (unload, reload CD, download software, change display resolution). I did have some success with right clicking, checking properties, and getting the software to run in Admin mode. It failed, so Windows asked if it could suggest a fix. I clicked yes. It came back with Windows Compatibility Mode: Windows 8.
So modified, I got the program to run. Good luck.
It worked for me too!!! Thank you for this.. Saved me calling TT. Happy Refunds!
