Social Security Input error. Product will not accept input.

I got around the problem by going to the forms.  The step-by-step is completely hosed.  From what I can tell, It's been going on for some time.  If it doesn't get fixed, this will be the last year I use TurboTax.

I solved the problem with the forms.  I went back and followed your instructions re: changing to administrator and still couldn't enter/change anything in the interview section of the program.

When attempting to enter the amounts associated with my SSA-1099 the form will not acept any enter. Instead the has a symbol just below the entry line and will not accept any kind of entry.

I was able to go to the Forms and enter the info directly into the tax form.  I was able to get back to the easy input by hitting the Ezy input button.  Im not sure that was the name, but it was similar.  When I got back to the regular form and it went to the screen with everything I'd entered with the Start or Update buttons beside each section I realized that I had been using the Start button to go to the next section instead of the Next button at the bottom of the page.  I've been using the Next button instead of the Start button and have had no other problems since.

I'm having problems with the Social Security page freezing up on TurboTax Premier Desktop using Mac OS 12.7.4.  Every time I navigate to that page the formatting looks odd and it freezes and won't allow input or further navigation.  I'm stuck.  Everything up to that point has worked well.

Try going out of your program and back in.  Make sure all updates have been run.  Also clear your cache and delete your cookies before going back in.

There is an issue with entering SSA income.the edit button is not highlighted.

You cannot enter SSA, this is a very huge issue.

The jump to feature is not working either you just get a blank screen.

If you have already tried the steps that LindaS5247 mentions above and still have trouble entering your SSA, then you can try to navigate to this section one other way.

1. Log into your return, then click pick up where I left off.
2. Select Tax Tools from the left menu.
3. Select Tools
4. Select Topic Search
5. Search ssa 1099, and select go.

If this doesn’t work, then contact support for additional assistance.

I was able to enter my SS information by going to forms and entering it on the SS worksheet as suggested elsewhere.  My information entered on the form carried over into the regular software format and allowed me to proceed.
