I paid for taxes march 15 it's telling me I need to file but I already thought I did file since I had to pay
Paying your TurboTax fee did not file your tax return. Did you go all the way through the FILE section and e-file?
Did you e-file? Did you click a big orange button that said “Transmit my returns now?”
When you e-file your federal return you will receive two emails from TurboTax. The first one will say that your return was submitted. The second email will tell you if your federal return was accepted or rejected. If you e-filed a state return, there will be a third email to tell you if the state accepted or rejected your state return.
First, check your e-file status to see if your return was accepted:

If the IRS accepted it, what does it say here?
Or does your account say “Ready to Mail?”
Note: If it says “Ready to Mail” or “Printed” that means YOU have to mail it yourself. TurboTax does not mail your tax return for you.

You complete your tax return by finishing all 3 Steps in the File section. In Step 3, to e-file your tax return, you must click on the large Orange button labeled "Transmit my returns now".
After completing the File section and e-filing your tax return you will receive two emails from TurboTax. The first email when your tax return was transmitted and the second email when the tax return has either been accepted or rejected.

This is a public Internet forum. For your privacy/security, please do not post personal info in the public forum. TurboTax Support will not contact you from the forum, but no telling who else could try to contact you to spam/scam you. It looks like the forum privacy filter protected you by removing your information.
The FAQ below says TurboTax cannot send the code as a phone text since the process is verifying an email address.
Be sure the emailed code is not ending up in your email's spam/junk folder. If you have another email address and want to change the email address to use, you can go to Intuit Account and your account settings.

What are you referring to? This thread is about a 6-digit email verification code during efiling. Are you instead referring to a 16-character license activation code?
If so, where did you buy your product--directly from TurboTax or from another authorized retailer?

If you are referring to the 6-digit email verification code at the time of e-filing, it cannot be sent by phone text. It is an email verification.
