Does Turbo tax work on a Mac Book Pro?
When can i amend a tax return in turbo tax
@icindee Are you asking about amending 2022? Not until late February.
Did you click that big orange button that said “Transmit my return now?” If you did that, you cannot do anything to fix it yet. You have to wait for the email that tells you if your return was accepted or rejected.
You cannot change or add anything on the return that you just e-filed, nor can you stop it. It is too late, just like when you put an envelope in a US mailbox on the corner. The IRS does not allow you to take it back.
If you left out a W-2, a 1099G, or a dependent, or a 1099 etc…DO NOT change your return while it is “pending.” The changes will go nowhere.
Now you have to wait until the IRS either rejects or accepts your return. If your return is rejected, you will be able to go into your account and make the necessary changes to your tax return and re-submit your return.
If the IRS accepts your return, however, then you have to wait longer until it has been fully processed and you have received your refund. THEN you can prepare an amended tax return and e-file or mail it in. You have to be able to work from that return exactly the way it was when it was e-filed originally. You will need to use a form called a 1040X.
Meanwhile, DO NOT go in and start changing anything on your return in the system, or you will make a mess for yourself. Sit tight and wait until you see what the IRS does with the return you just e-filed
The Form 1040X you need will not be available until late February.
Hi
Thanks greatly.
No I need to amend last year. As I was preparing for the filing this year. I found an error on last year's that I need to amend. I do not have that big orange button.
I filed an easy file $0 cost return - is this a problem?

Only certain paid tax pros can still e-file past year amended returns. You cannot e-file an amended return that you prepared yourself using TurboTax. Your 1040X must be printed, signed and dated in ink, and then you need to mail it in. Use a mailing service like certified mail so you will know the IRS received it, since you will have a long wait for it to be processed.
Even during “normal” times it takes about four months for the IRS to process an amended return. During the pandemic and due to the severe backlog at the IRS it is taking much longer—six to nine months or more for many amended returns. Do not expect quick results from amending. When the IRS issues a refund for an amended return it will be by check. They do not make direct deposits for refunds for amended returns. You can watch for information here:

I got w2s for gate gourmet has these been filed
If you are asking if the W-2s from Gate Gourmet were filed with the IRS, you would need to ask your employer to confirm.
However, if you would like help preparing your return with TurboTax please use the link below to get started. Please be aware that you can file for free with expert help if you qualify.
@513rashad2020 If you are asking if your W-2's were somehow automatically put on a tax return and filed for you---no.
You have to enter your W-2's and file your own tax return.
W-2's come from employers. If your employer is partnered with TurboTax to allow the W-2 data to be imported into the software you can do that---but you need the actual W-2 so that you can enter the EIN and the amount from box 1 to import the other data from the W-2---which just saves you the little bit of keying in of the other information.
Every 2022 W-2 that you received must be reported on your 2022 tax return, even if they are for small amounts. Remember that each one of those W-2’s has your Social Security number on it, and that income was reported to the IRS by the employer. You do not want to get in trouble with the IRS for under-reporting your income.
ALL of your W-2’s must be entered on the SAME tax return.
Go to Federal>Wages & Income to enter a W-2.
After you enter the first one, you click Add Another W-2.
W-2's come from your employer, and they have until January 31 to issue it. Some employers allow you to import the W-2 through the software, but for security reasons you still need information from the actual W-2 to import it. You might need to phone, drop in, email and/or snail mail an old employer to make sure they know where to send your W-2.

Hi I file my tax return last year on turbo tax and I still waiting on my Hawaii tax rebate $300 from last year.
The IRS has said that most refunds will be processed within 21 days. If you have to mail in a paper return, if you make math errors, if you claim credits that you are not entitled to – any of these can delay processing for months.
TurboTax doesn’t know anything about your refund. Once your tax return is complete TurboTax either lets you print it in order to mail it or lets you e-file it. Either way they don’t have anything to do with it once you’re done. And they don’t have any way to find out what’s going on with it.
If you e-filed the return, then TurboTax sent you some emails about it. You need to make sure that it was accepted by the IRS. If you’ve been using the Where’s My Refund tool on the IRS website and your return has shown up as ‘processing’ then it was already accepted, you don’t have to check anything else.
If you haven’t been then this is the tool you want to use to track your refund. It is not updated terribly often but it’s the best option out there.
