@Jessesenakievich I read online somewhere that people who have used turbotax card or Jacksonhewett card to get their refunds that's where the irs sent their payment to. Just hear say. You arent the only one who didnt get the right amount. Theres so many unknown reasons why people got less than what they're supposed to. No specific reason everything is just unknown. Lucky for me I figured out why we were missing 500 and it was my own doing. I figured it out by going through my tax document. Good luck.
you should receive a letter in the next 2 weeks from the IRS explaining how they calculated it.
look at line 7 of your 2018 tax return; that is the AGI the IRS should have used to calculate the payment. the payment implies your AGI was $78,203. The stimulus is payment is $1200 and reduced by 5% for the part of your income over $75,000.
so $78,203 - $75000 = $3203 *5% = $160.15 reduction from the $1200 or $1039.85
if your income is LOWER than $78,203 in 2020, you'll get some of the rest back on your 2020 income taxes next year
I have the same problem nothing for my daughter
How come I only go 1,700 and every one got more that doesn't same right ?
You get 1,200 for Single and 500 for each dependent under 17. So 1,700 could be right. Are you married or have more than 1 dependent?
EVERYBODY did not get what they were expecting ... many have complained. In the next 2 weeks the IRS will mail out a letter explaining the check and if you have a current way to remedy the situation ... if there is none then you will get it on the 2020 return that you file next year.
I filed my taxes at the very beginning of March. I have 2 dependents. 2 children less than 5 years. A toddler and an infant born in 2019. My wife and I make less than150k combined. We should have gotten $3400. We got $2900. How can I appeal this?

For security reasons, a letter about the Payment will be mailed to each recipient’s last known address within 15 days after the Payment is made. The letter will provide information on how the Payment was made and how to report any failure to receive the Payment.
@Kdufrene62 - the IRS probably used your 2018 tax return to process the stimulus so they were not aware of the newborn. it will work itself out.... here is how:
my recommendation is sit tight and don't sweat it; it will work itself out.
I received - via direct deposit - much less (<$200) than the expected amount ($1200) based on payment calculator for my income and filing status. What are my options for correction? Thanks!
@llaflair - a few steps to take
look at line 8b of your 2019 tax return (line 7 of 2018 return) - that is your AGI and what the payment would have been based on.
1) you will get a letter from the IRS within the next 2 weeks explaining how they calculated and how to correct.
2) The stimulus payments are really based on your 2020 tax return (income, dependents, etc).
so if your income is less in 2020, you'll get the difference required from the stimulus as a credit increasing your refund (or reducing what you owe)
Please see the answer below that included this link and information.

Since the IRS is not taking calls and offices are closed, there is nothing else you can do. Perhaps later this year, the IRS will reopen to calls and you can call then, or you can follow the process already in place for you to correct errors when you file your 2020 return next year.
I did not receive the $500 for my child and everyone else get for theres
Did you find a site
@Markkelly605 - you will receive a letter from the IRS in the next 2 weeks explaining what they did and why. and if there is a correction process.
