There will be a 2024 TurboTax icon for the desktop edition that you installed on a personal computer, Window or Mac. The icon will be on the desktop display on or before the installation has completed.

If you downloaded TurboTax, check your Downloads folder for a TurboTax install.exe file. If you have it, double-click to re-install.

Did you download and install the desktop TurboTax software on your computer? Installing the desktop software will create the icon on your desktop.

If you want to use TurboTax Online, there is no desktop icon for it. You sign in to TurboTax Online in your web browser.

If you need further help, please say whether you are installing the desktop TurboTax software in Windows or on a Mac, and where you purchased the download.

I'm signed in to Turbotax 2024 but am not getting a desktop icon. Completed all entries except for those not available yet. I'm afraid of exiting the program and losing all my data. How do I get the icon while making sure my data is saved when I exit?

It's not clear what product you are using--online (web browser version) or desktop (software program installed on one's computer) and whether Mac or Windows. If you are using Online TurboTax, there is no desktop icon. Online TurboTax saves your data after each screen. If you are using Online TurboTax, you can go to the left menu column and scroll way down to click on Sign Out. If you are using desktop software, are you saying you don't have a desktop shortcut icon to launch the program from the main desktop screen; i.e., that the installation file didn't create one? If so, how have you been launching the program? And if so, that icon doesn't have anything to do with saving data. We can tell you how to save a desktop version data file once we know for sure what product you are using, and when we further understand your issue.
