@65neco

U.S. residents will receive the Economic Impact Payment of $1,200 for individual or head of household filers, and $2,400 for married filing jointly if they are not a dependent of another taxpayer and have a work eligible Social Security number with adjusted gross income up to:

  • $75,000 for individuals
  • $112,500 for head of household filers and
  • $150,000 for married couples filing joint returns

Taxpayers will receive a reduced payment if their AGI is between:

  • $75,000 and $99,000 if their filing status was single or married filing separately
  • 112,500 and $136,500 for head of household
  • $150,000 and $198,000 if their filing status was married filing jointly

The amount of the reduced payment will be based upon the taxpayers specific adjusted gross income.

Eligible retirees and recipients of Social Security, Railroad Retirement, disability or veterans' benefits as well as taxpayers who do not make enough money to normally have to file a tax return will receive a payment. This also includes those who have no income, as well as those whose income comes entirely from certain benefit programs, such as Supplemental Security Income benefits.

Retirees who receive either Social Security retirement or Railroad Retirement benefits will also receive payments automatically.

@KATHYB43056

The IRS can look at your 2018 or 2019 return to issue a stimulus check.  If they do not have a 2018 return then you may be waiting for them to finish processing 2019 before they will be able to use it to issue your stimulus check.

If you used the non-filer site, you will not be able to e-file a 2019 return after using the non-filer site.

TurboTax has no control over your stimulus check, nor can TT track it for you or tell you when the IRS will issue it. Refer to the sites linked below:

You can call the IRS hotline at 1-800-919-9835 to get updates on your stimulus payment.

I read that the stimulus check was delayed for people who filed with major tax prep services, such as Turbo Tax and H & R Block, etc.  I filed my taxes for 2018 with Turbo Tax, but apparently the IRS may only have a temporary bank account on file. Is this correct, and do I need to update my bank account details at the IRS's "Get My Payment" portal?

I have filed for over my adult & married life and I have done electronic filings as they have been available. I see this as one or two ways:
1.) IRS is screwed up and intentionally are messing up this process "STIMULUS" - lied to us.
2.) They have intentionally SKIPPING everyone who has not filed their 2019 despite the changes our President's administration applied an amended OFFICIAL tax filing deadline of 3 months. Again - LIES.

3.) ??MAYBE?? Is the IRS inept? Just clueless with their process? Naw - I will have anything there excuses! LIES and LIES.

There is no way they miss me given the numbers of time I have done this process time. The number of times I have done this and they say they do not have the information? Lies........I will bet your bottom dollar if THEY GET TO YOU TO NEED TO YOU they will get out to you in an instant. This process is full of excuses and lies.

I even entered my personal information to IRS and they have confirmed that they already have my information and they say I do not have to do anything else. So again - why the delay of weeks and weeks and weeks? Why the Auto-Inte[product key removed]m? Lies & excuses. No way to really contact ANYONE --- they have sealed themselves off  of us so they can ignore all of us. Excuses and lies.

I registered with va unemployment non filets for my stimulus check and for unemployment. I’ve been working for myself since the end of January doing small construction jobs and have not had any work since mid April due to covid  19 fears and can not find out if I’m receiving my $1,200 stimulus check.
