If your banking institution rejected your refund and sends it back to the IRS. The IRS will mail you a paper check instead.
My refund was rejected in march 1st due to closed acct I called my bank and they said it was sent back on march second but where’s my refund is still saying it was deposited and I can’t talk to any at irs. Not sure if I should wait or file lost check
There no number can u send it again
This would be a question for the IRS as Turbo Tax will not know.
How do I contact the Internal Revenue Service (IRS)?

@Deebox73 - The bank Turbo Tax uses will be able to give you insight. Your bank and the IRS won’t know anything for a couple weeks - until the finds are released by TTS bank.
Santa Barbara Tax Products Group

If your bank rejects your refund deposit due to a closed account, the IRS will send a check to the address on your tax return. That is standard procedure for these type of situations. To find out more information, you can contact the IRS, and I can tell you the best time to call is first thing in the morning at 7am. IRS phone lines are typically very busy during the February through April filing season. The WMR on their website or Where's My Refund tool will update when a check is mailed to you. To speak to an IRS agent go here to this TurboTax FAQ for contact information.

I used my wife's bank info. And they rejected the check because her name was not on the check. How do I get my taxes now.

The federal tax refund was sent back to the IRS by the bank. The IRS will mail a refund check to the address on the tax return.
This may take up to 3 weeks or longer before the check is mailed.
Hey!! The same exact thing happened to me! My DDD was March 9. Did you get your check? I’ve checked my transcript and everything and can’t figure anything out regarding our return.
@Smarriott1010 - Call TT’s bank and inquire as to where your check is - Santa Barbra Tax Group. ** Only if you personally used TT to file your taxes
I’ve checked the online for the Santa Barbara bank and they say they have no information for my husbands or my social security number. Our personal tax lady did our taxes for us. We just drop them off to her and she is even confused.
@Smarriott1010 If your "personal tax lady" prepared your tax returns and filed them, why are you asking about it here in the user forum for TurboTax? And what does it have to do with SBTPG?
Oh wow. ! I didn’t even realize this was for turbo tax only. I just googled my question and this popped up!! My tax lady can only see what I can and even using her tax stuff can’t get through to IRS. Makes sense why that bank has no information. LMAO.
To clarify, @xmasbaby0 : The Santa Barbara Tax Group/Bank is used to process your refund when you elect to have your tax preparation fees deducted from your refund - They are TT's bank. When your refund is sent back from your bank it goes to this bank. It will either be held and then mailed from this bank or pinged back to the IRS for them to then mail it. I and many others have found that our checks were mailed from them after our bank has rejected them.
