Curious....but on my transcript it has 846 code with 2/24/22 date. I didnt receive refund, my bank rejected it when they tried to deposit it on 2/19/22. Transcript updated last week to another 846 code with a 3/11/22 date. So now I'm wondering that since I'm getting a paper check, does that mean I should receive the check BY 3/11/22 or that it will be mailed ON 3/11/22? I'm hoping I'll get it sooner, since the dates on my transcript don't match the actual timeline of events that's happened. They said they attempted initial direct deposit on 2/24/22, but as I stated, they attempted the deposit on 2/19/22. They sent a notice about approval for CTC with a date of 2/28/22 but I received the notice ON 2/28/22. So I'm just wondering if the refund check is most likely already on it's way or if it's being mailed out on the 3/11/22 date.
The transcript and dates provided by the IRS are estimates. TurboTax is unable to confirm when the IRS will issue your paper check refund. Since it has been longer than 21 days since you have received your refund, please see this Help Article for more details. You can also reach out directly to the IRS using the details below:

Did you have fees from your refund
This happened to my 18 yr. I did his taxes and had it sent to my bank. It was suppose to be deposited on 3/9 but never came. He got the state taxes in the mail but the federal refund did not deposit. I called the bank today and they said that they rejected it and sent it back to the irs because his name was not associated with my account. So they gave me this number to call [phone number removed] and I was told that a paper check will be mailed to the address on the return. Hope this helps
You will get a paper check
If your bank rejected your tax refund, it can take up to 5 business days for the IRS to receive the funds back.
Once they receive the funds they will send you a paper check. This can take up to 10 business days for you to receive it. You can monitor this on the IRS Where’s My Refund? page for updates.

Since my last comment I've been on the phone with so many people regarding my own issue - This is absolutely wrong per the IRS and TurboTax systems - if your bank rejected the deposit it gets rebounded to the bank that Turbotax uses to finance and process our Taxes. And if you do not call that bank to make sure they send the funds back they can hold it for an indefinite time without telling you and will either resolve the issue by issuing their own check (whats happened to me - I'm still waiting on my check) or they will bounce it back to the IRS. The IRS will have no insight regarding this and your bank will have no insight so don't make the mistake of getting pissed at them for this mishap. Turbotax will also not say a **bleep** thing unless you badger them or if you air it out publically here.
My bank is certainly the one who instigated my whole issue but Turbotax's lack of transparency and generalized answers has been full to the fire if not the one keeping it ablaze.
Food for thought for everyone going through similar issues

That is true only if you elected to pay your TT fees with your Federal refund. Otherwise, the deposit goes directly back to the IRS, who then mails you a check in 2-4 weeks. Next time, you can avoid the extra Pay with Refund fee by paying with a debit or credit card.
Are you still waiting on yours in the mail?
No this is wrong - I paid my fees upfront.
I'm still waiting - however, I was able to get into touch with TT's bank again today and they shared it was mailed last week and should be arriving this coming week.
@darcyshay Are you sure you paid the fees upfront with a credit card? Then the refund goes directly from the IRS to you. It doesn't go through the 3rd party bank TPG to take the fees out.

Since the refund deposit was rejected by the bank it was sent back to the IRS. The IRS will mail a refund check to the address on the tax return. This process may take up to three weeks possibly longer.
[phone number removed] Call this number for refund status to see if it was mailed!!!!
