If your bank rejects your refund deposit due to a closed account, the IRS will send a check to the address on your tax return. That is standard procedure for these type of situations. To find out more information, you can contact the IRS, and I can tell you the best time to call is first thing in the morning at 7am. IRS phone lines are typically very busy during the February through April filing season. The WMR on their website or Where's My Refund tool will update when a check is mailed to you.
