I am trying to finish filing and am being asked to pay 44 dollars more. I don't need audit defense and can't seem to file without it?

I purchase TT 18 deluxe at Amazon.com. I don't need audit defense. It won't let me continue unless I pay for audit defense?

Hi there @j7to45even, when you get to the section titled Review Your Order, you will be able to remove Audit Defense, which is included in MAX Defend & Restore (https://ttlc.intuit.com/questions/2924462-what-is-max).

I'm filing my brother's 2019 taxes and I can't get rid of the $44.99 even if I actively remove the Audit defense.  

I don't select Audit defense on the next page either, but when I select Continue, I get the page asking how to pay.  There's no opt out on that page.

If your TurboTax fees are higher than expected, you can reduce Remove Pay With Your Refund

• Remove Premium Services
• Remove MAX Defend & Restore
• Remove a state them by removing add-ons:
• Remove PLUS Help & Support

Is he in California? If you choose to have the Turbo Tax fees deducted from your refund there is an EXTRA service charge for California and includes Audit Defense. The only way to get rid of it would be to pay the fees up front with a credit card.
