Amend previous year with free file

What a fail from turbotax free file: we came to depend on you for years to make life a little easier.

Now you have NO email, NO phone support, and we're all lemmings in this forum. Gross.

I want to amend a previous year that I did with you under free file. Which you CLAIM is free. But won't let me see the years. Then you say I need some desktop version with a DVD???? Are you that old-fashioned? What about those with a Chromebook?

And no price or directions at all. This is truly a nightmare from a name we came to trust.

You can amend 2020 using the Online version.  You don't need to download the Desktop program.  Click on

Turbo Tax Online  here,  you don't need to use the note for using the Desktop program.

I did see that article, thanks. Mine is for 2018, since we were all evicted in 2019 and Taylor Equities threw some of my papers out of my window into the dumptruck the next day.

Sorry - I've looked everywhere. There is no button in the left column or anywhere else that says Upgrade or Plus.

I don't know how your business makes money.

Oh sorry, I assumed you were asking about 2020.  Sorry you will need to use the Desktop program for 2018.  Maybe you need to go to a local tax place.

So you are saying you literally send a CD in the mail? Too bad if someone no longer has a CD or DVD player in their device! Oh, don't want to bring up personal problems here, or is it too late?

And is there a price or is it free? Or we just guess? And I see no place here to buy anything.

No they do not send CDs.  You download the program.  You need a full Windows or Mac to install it.    If you don't have one maybe you can use a relatives or friend computer.

I need 2020 and every time I get on my turbo tax online it shows that" amending a prior year return is not currently supported by IRS Free File Program delivered by TurboTax". Showed that in 2021 and 2022. I watch youtube videos..still can't amend turbo tax yet the people in the videos can. Very frustrated. Also, I clicked the link you posted to help out and it shows that the page can't be found.
