You can find your 2024 Adjusted Gross Income (AGI) by:
Looking at line 11 on page 1 of your 2024 Form 1040
Requesting a transcript of your 2024 tax return from the IRS. You can request your transcript online at the following link: Get Transcript
Please click on this TurboTax article for more information.
Check these items as well to ensure you have the correct number. If you:
Filed late last year after mid-November or your return was processed after that time—try entering 0.
Amended your return last year—make sure you’re using the AGI from your original return, not the amended one. (If you only have a 1040X form, it’s on line 1, column A).
Rounded your AGI to the nearest dollar—be sure to round up when it’s 50 cents or more and down when it’s 49 cents or less.
Filed with your spouse last year—you and your spouse have the same 2024 AGI. (Don’t split the AGI amount or enter 0 for one of you).
Time-saving Tip: If what you entered is correct and you continue to get a reject, you won't be able to e-file. There's probably a data mismatch at the government, or some other situation beyond your control that prevents your return from being e-filed. In this case, your only option would be to print and mail in your return.
This article will give you instruction on how to print and mail your return.

If you have filed the tax return, the bank information cannot be changed. If the IRS cannot direct deposit the refund due to the closed account they will mail a refund check to the address on the tax return.
If you have not filed the tax return, in the File section on Step 2 you can enter the bank information for direct deposit.

I spoke with the SSA and "did ask them why". They said I should talk to Intuit. I then questioned if they are receiving any of my other documents submitted through Quick employer forms. They have the W2/3 for the following year but no record of the year they are missing. I then gave them the confirmation number emailed to me by intuit stating the acceptance of the forms by the SSA. That confirmation number was unrecognizable to them. What good is a confirmation number if it is not recognized by all parties involved? I realize I can resubmit the forms that I have already paid intuit to submit, but I shouldn't have to.

@MZUNIPEG67 Yeah, deleting and re-entering is a PITA....and TTX totally screwed that up. True, many to most states won't need or want the actual 8283 at all...(OK, that's a guess om my part)...

One would have to investigate each state's filing rules to see if it was really needed for the state too.....some may want to see the form if the person is filing a paper copy thru the mail, but usually, e-filing will transfer whatever the state needs in some kind of electronic format..

No inputs for R&B, computer, etc on the download Mac Premier version. I've deleted 1099-Q/1098-T and retried the wizard and still nothing. Ugh!

Sounds like something got stuck. You can try these things:
Log Out Completely: Before doing anything else, click Sign Out in the TurboTax menu.
Clear Cache and Cookies: This removes old, "corrupted" data that might be confusing the website.
Use an Incognito (Private) Window: This is the most effective "quick fix" because it launches the browser without any saved history or extensions (like AdBlockers) that often interfere with tax forms.
Check Pop-up Blockers: TurboTax often opens forms (like the 1099 PDF) or payment windows in a separate pop-up. Look at the right side of your address bar for a small icon with a "red X"—click it and select "Always allow pop-ups from Intuit."
Restart the Browser: Close all open windows of your browser entirely and then reopen it.
Most TurboTax errors happen because the browser is trying to use an old "session" from a previous visit. By clearing the cache or using Incognito mode, you force the browser to establish a brand-new, secure connection with the Intuit servers.

Hmmmmm....... I checked today and it's still not working in the online version. Why do Turbotax employees continue to give us false hope and erroneous answers? Can you tell us why H&R has had this available for weeks and Turbotax has not been able to get their act together on it? Just be honest please.

I suggest you look at your Form 1040 to see what the investment income listed on your form is. You are primarily looking for interest, dividends, capital gains, and rental income. It may be that some of your income is listed in the wrong place or some amounts are not correct. Only your adjusted gross income over $250,000 (joint filer) or $200,000 (single filer) is subject to the additional tax. You will see your investment income included on lines 2 through 7 on the Form 1040 and also on Schedule 1, Part 1. You can view your Form 1040 and schedules 1 to 3 by following these steps: Choose Tax Tools from your left menu bar in TurboTax Online while working in your program Choose Tools Choose View Tax Summary See the Preview my 1040 option in the left menu bar and click on it Choose the Back option in the left menu bar when you are done

@user17709788658 SS? a 1099-R doesn't have anything to do with Social Security. IF you are attempting to enter your SSA-1099 from Social Security...you are using the wrong software form. The SSA-1099 is in a different menu selection, just below the regular 1099-R form menu selection. ________________________________________ BUT...if you are entering an actual 1099-R (pension, 401k/TSP, but not an IRA) with box 2a somewhat lower due to some after-tax contributions your made....then you do answer YES to that follow-up question....then the box 2a value is used in spite of what the text actually implies. _______________________ Like I said, we really want the software folks to change the question to be what they used in prior years so that they stop misleading people to selecting the wrong answer _______________________________________ Last year (for 2024 taxes) the question was: _______________________________ This year (for 2025 taxes), they totally messed it up and needs to be changed:

Thank you so much for your response. This is very helpful instructions. You are correct in the timeframe for the 8606 forms. We filed them between years 1987 to 1993.

Surely someone is referring this issue to their programming staff. We shouldn't have to fiddle with the dropdown to make it work. The software needs to be updated to allow multiple downloads from the same institution, as it did in prior years. We are pleading with you to get this fixed before April 15!
