I was able to get it to work this morning, although I had to remove a couple of my entries and have it re-populate and then before you file, you can review your forms and see if it’s still there it worked for me this morning, and my returns were accepted just fine. Good luck
Form 8283: I'm having the same issue. My tax returns were rejected because the required Forem 8283 was not included. I did find a completed 8283 in my printed copy. I tried to call the Turbo Tax help line three times. Each time there was a wait in excess of 30 minutes and the results were the same _ no help. The first person spoke very broken English and didn't know how to help. she said she would transfer me and I was disconnected. The second call was a poor connection and then I was dropped. The third time I took the option of having them call me back. The call never came. VERY FRUSTRATING. I've been a Turbo Tax customer for over 20 years. I think this is my last year.
My test file had the form now, in the cases where it was missing, But... I had to edit the entries for a couple Charities first, because an address was now required for one or two of them where it hadn't been entered in previously....or wasn't required before the finally 8283 popped up.
Same issue here with the online version. Was on the phone with a rep for over an hour last night and they were clueless. So frustrating!
Hi!
I am pleased to announce that the Form 8283 showed up without me having to fill it out and I e-filed again and both federal & state was accepted. Such a relief! Hope it is fixed for everyone!
Definitely did NOT solve my issues with Turbo Tax. I removed the 8283 that was causing issues, saved the form, exited Turbo Tax, rebooted my laptop and attempted to work on a Charitable Donation that required tie Its Deductible module that has always been present. Instead, I received the pop up that said "Coming Soon". Well SOON IS NOW. This is yet another reason not to use Turbo Tax. Incomplete product.
The product should be whole and ready for primetime on January 1st. No exceptions. There were other portions of the product that were "COMING SOON" too but apparently these have been solved...for now.
I am still having same problem, I can't get it to populate the 8283 for my state return. This is terrible to still have no resolutions. I am using desktop Home and Business. I have gone back through every entry hoping it would populate, but nothing. Software is updated, my computer is up to date. I don't know what else to try??
Y'all might be left with a complete uninstall/reinstall
or
Manual Update (If on windows computer)

Good morning
Still no resolution to this issue. I can't believe we are in the middle of February, middle of Tax filing, and the #1 tax software on the market has basic flaws like this. Absolutely no excuse for this. There should be no reason to start the form over, delete portions of the tax form, or even reloading the software. Plain and simple patch should solve the issue but nothing is being offered that truly works.

I don’t believe my state, California, needed that form. My form was for federal only as far as they know, and I use the online version. Mine updated fine all was accepted, and I’ve already received my refund. I removed all items and re-entered them.
Yeah, deleting and re-entering is a PITA....and TTX totally screwed that up.
True, many to most states won't need or want the actual 8283 at all...(OK, that's a guess om my part).
One would have to investigate each state's filing rules to see if it was really needed for the state too.....some may want to see the form if the person is filing a paper copy thru the mail, but usually, e-filing will transfer whatever the state needs in some kind of electronic format..
Yes, totally agree, I deleted and re-entered about 4 times, luckily only the non-cash etc., and I had about 6 entries.
Yes, quite frustrating, and the reps didn't know any answers as well.
I looked back at mine, and I only see it included with Federal 1040 not my California state.
I feel your pain, fingers crossed for you, and sorry, it was sure not fun to work through the issue.
Good luck!

I have actually done that, tried to update it from the menu options, says it up to date every time. Thank you for the suggestions. :(
