Yes, your understanding is correct as long as she did not remarry.
If that is the case (she sold within 2 years and had not remarried) you can enter the stepped-up value as the "Adjusted Cost Basis" of the home and continue to see if the program then gives her the full 500,000.
On the "Home purchase info" screen select
"Yes, I will enter the amount"
Do not use "No, I would like some help top calculate it"

It appears to assume that the W2 income it is carrying over from my federal return was made in the non-resident portion of the year and that I didn't pay any state tax on it which is not the case.

A full or corrupted cache can cause problems in TurboTax, so sometimes you need to clear your cache (to get to the screen to pop up). This article provides the steps on how to clear you cache depending on your browser.
Also, keep in mind that entering your HSA contributions in TurboTax requires a two-step process. First, the HSA information is entered in the Wages & Income section using the W-2, Box 12, Code W. Second, you must also input the information in the Deductions & Credits section under HSA, MSA Contributions.

The OBBA has introduced a new deduction for overtime pay from tax year 2025. You may deduct up to $12,500 of qualified overtime premium on your Federal tax return (up to $25,000 for MFJ). The deduction is gradually phased out if your MAGI exceeds $150,000 ($300,000 for MFJ). The deduction is for the overtime premium, which is the portion over your regular pay.
For tax year 2025, your employer may list non-taxable overtime in box 14 of form W-2 with a specific label like "FLSA OT Prem". You might also receive a separate year-end statement giving you the amount. Otherwise, you have to calculate the overtime premium to enter on your tax return.
In TurboTax Online, this is how you enter the qualified overtime premium:
After entering your form W-2, you'll see a screen titled Let's Check for Other Situations
Put a checkmark on Overtime and click Continue
Follow the TurboTax questionnaire to enter your qualified overtime premium
This deduction will transfer to Schedule 1-A of your form 1040, with that amount flowing to line 13b of your form 1040.

If your overtime income is included in box 1 of the W-2 or is shown in box 14, then after you complete entry of the W-2, on the following screen check the Overtime box and continue.

Property tax input can be posted in two areas if the Online version. Property Tax is often reported with the Mortgage Interest on Form 1098. You should post the 1098 property tax in this section It's presented in a summary under a separate tab labeled Property (Real Estate) Taxes. If you wish to edit the 1098 property tax, go back to the Mortgage Interest and Refinancing (Form 1098) and make the changes. If you had additional Property tax (perhaps from a second home) it will be entered under Property (Real Estate) Taxes To post Property Taxes Log into TurboTax Under Federal > Deductions & Credits In dropdown select one of the two: Mortgage Interest and Refinancing (Form 1098) Property (Real Estate) Taxes [Start] or [Edit] You can edit the amounts here.

Yes. You can include certain insurance premiums for medical, dental and vision on your Ohio State Taxes.
No. If the premiums are reimbursed, you cannot include them as expenses.
To be deductible the following must apply
They must be paid with after -tax dollars
If your employer takes the premiums out before taxes, you cannot deduct these
For the premiums to be fully deductible, you cannot be enrolled or eligible for enrollment in an employer paid health plan or Medicare.
Ex. You are self-employed and you purchased insurance through the Marketplace and are paying your own premiums. You cannot include an amount that you receive the Premium Tax Credit for.
If self-employed, these premiums must be reduced by any Self-Employed Health Insurance deduction you take on your federal return.
If you are covered by Medicare or a plan at work and the employer does not take the premiums out pre-tax (meaning, there is not a deduction in box 1 of your W-2 for the premiums) you can deduct these premiums but they are combined with the rest of your medical expenses and are only deductible for the amount that is over 7.5% of your AGI.
Ex. Your AGI is $50,000, only the amount of your total medical expenses that are over $3,750 are deductible.
You must reduce your premiums by any refunds or dividends you received, not just direct employer reimbursements.

Never got my state yet filed Jan 29th and apparently some people are getting the state fast mine still shows as posted a picture I did speak to a lady last night she said they are aware of the glitch and working on it if your irs and pdf of taxes shows the amount you’re approved for then you are okay however she said if you don’t get that full amount call back so we can work it out… So I have to call TurboTax so solve this issue if I don’t get all of the money I am OWED!? This has never happened before I even had to pay almost 300 to file my taxes granted I did do the 5 days thing in which I think that was a mistake because it seems like this is only happening to the people that purchased that I blame who we have in office I don’t even qualify for the child tax credit to earned income tax credit and I apparently made less this year than I did last year with my raise same hours though make that make sense. All I know is that TurboTax better get their s**t together because this is ridiculous and never happened before
