Well hopefully mine is coming soon. It was March 3
I filed on April 11 and still says being processed. I don't bother calling because I know it's a waste of time. I just wish they tried to do something to speed up the process. They always want their money on time and there's penalties if not paid on time.
The IRS is adding on interest so your refund might be a few dollars more.
I specifically waited for Turbo Tax to update their system with the new unemployment rules/calculations. So, I filed on April 11. I don't understand why the IRS hasn't automatically process those returns if TT had already updated their system. There shouldn't be any delays for those returns after the system was updated. They don't have to do any recalculating for those returns.
There are millions of people waiting for refunds due to the backlog at the IRS. What you perceive as a "simple" return may not really be so simple, or your return might just be clogged in the pipeline with millions of others that are waiting. TurboTax cannot speed them up for you, so you just have to wait for the IRS to catch up and process your return.
I filed on Feb. 12 and still processing...
I understand but I was just worried I done something wrong. It was my second time using turbo tax ever. When I seen the amount I thought it was larger then expected but I just chalked it up to covid.
@Cebbie71 You thought the refund amount was lager than you expected? Did you check over your return? Did you get the first 2 Stimulus payments? Check and see if you have an amount on 1040 line 30 for the Recovery rebate credit that you are not entitled to get or already got.
I didn’t get the last payment for 600$ credit for my daughter. I went over everything and it seemed fine. So idk. I know some ppls stuff says to contact them. It’s never said that. It just says still processing
But its been over 21 days from
Being accepted??🤷
@gidgetbekiar Millions of people have been waiting much longer than 21 days. There are people who have been waiting since late February.
TurboTax gives you an estimated date for receiving your refund based on a 21 day average from your date of acceptance, but it can take longer. “21 days” is not a promise from TurboTax or the IRS. Many refunds are taking longer during the pandemic. The IRS is backlogged —-they are still trying to process millions of 2019 returns; they received millions of e-filed on the day they opened for 2020 returns, and now they are burdened with sending out another round of stimulus checks.
Some delays are resulting from incorrect amounts that folks entered for stimulus checks they received. Many people have been confused by the recovery rebate credit and completed it incorrectly. The IRS may delay your refund while they cross-check to see what you received. Some refunds are delayed because of the tax law changes that went into effect recently. If your return has unemployment or the premium tax credit on it, that may be delaying it.
First, check your e-file status to see if your return was accepted:

Once your federal return has been accepted by the IRS, only the IRS has any control. TurboTax does not receive any updates from the IRS. Your ONLY source of information about your refund now is the IRS.
You need your filing status, your Social Security number and the exact amount (line 34of your 2020 Form 1040) of your federal refund to track your Federal refund:

If you chose to have your TurboTax fees deducted from your federal refund, that will take some extra time, while the third party bank handles the refund processing.

As of May 15, 2021, we had 300,000 individual tax returns received prior to 2021 in the processing pipeline. Including current year returns, as of May 15, 2021, we had 16.4 million unprocessed individual returns in the pipeline. Unprocessed returns include those requiring correction to the Recovery Rebate Credit amount or validation of 2019 income used to figure the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) and Additional Child Tax Credit (ACTC). This work does not require us to correspond with taxpayers but does require special handling by an IRS employee so, in these instances, it is taking the IRS more than 21 days to issue any related refund. If, as a result, a correction is made to any RRC, EITC or ACTC claimed on the return, the IRS will send taxpayers an explanation. Taxpayers are encouraged to continue to check Where’s My Refund? for their personalized refund status and can review Tax Season Refund Frequently Asked Questions.
Mine has been since Feb 14, so far extend 2-60 days periods on day 40 of the second review. Getting the same reply from IRS just wait the additional 60 days.

After the tax return has been Accepted by the IRS (meaning only that they received the return) it will be in the Processing mode until the tax refund has been Approved and then an Issue Date will be available on the IRS website.
