It may take longer than the usual 24-48 hours in some cases for your return to get accepted. Don't worry. It's like traveling, sometimes traffic causes delays and that happens in cyberspace as well. Heavy traffic sometimes causes slower arrival time. See this FAQ regarding your pending status: What does pending mean?
I have always been accepts within 30 minutes it has been almost 48 hours I think someone should check on my return especially since the fees are steady going up. My status is pending im not talking about being approved. Can I file with someone else since this has not been accepted
You would not be able to cancel a pending return. You can just continue to check your e-file status using the link provided below, or you can reach out to the IRS directly for assistance with your return:
I have called the IRS they have stated that it is on turbo tax end because they have not received my return. How long do you suggest I wait
This is incorrect. I just walked my friend through filing and his return status show accepted 2 hrs later. It's Saturday.

TurboTax agents, quit telling people stuck in pending for long after 48 hours that there is a "backlog" or whatever. You have a problem and need to investigate and fix it immediately! I have never had my file stuck in Pending more than 8 hours or so, and now it's 5 days. The problem is on YOUR end. Continuing to patronize us by telling us to "just be patient" is an insult. And a great way to lose customers. I have used TurboTax for years and have always recommended it enthusiastically, but if my file is still pending tomorrow morning, I am NEVER using TurboTax again.
We definitely want to assist you, but in this public forum, we do not have access to your personal information and return information. To contact our customer service directly, please follow the link here:

This has nothing to do with my "personal information." It is obvious that many people are having this problem. We want answers and a solution now!
The following TurboTax FAQ offers some assistance concerning your delayed refund: https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/refund-status/help/some-federal-refunds-will-be-delayed-due-to-the...
To reiterate what others have noted : the situation is not about delayed refunds, it is about the returns being stuck in "pending" status for longer than usual. I have used TT for years and have always received the "accepted' email within a few minutes of the "in progress" email from TT. This year, I'm on day 4 after submission and status is still pending. I did both of my kids' returns after mine and both of those were "accepted" within 5 minutes. Can anyone at TT explain why 1 of 3 returns completed in close proximity is pending while the other 2 were accepted? My concern is that it is stuck on TT's server. Please help. Thank you.
Even though the IRS issues 9 out of 10 tax refunds within 21 days, it's possible your return may require additional review and take longer to process. For some taxpayers, PATH Act requirements and other identity-protection safeguards implemented by the IRS may account for longer wait times.
Other things that can delay your refund include, but are not limited to:

Your return will stay in Pending status until the IRS finishes processing the backlog of returns. After January, e-filed returns generally sit in Pending status for 24–48 hours before coming back as either Accepted or Rejected. Sometimes returns stay in Pending for several days or even longer. Unfortunately, TurboTax has no control over how long the IRS takes to accept a return.

For others in this thread that are/were pending, here's an update as of this evening. My return was finally rejected. Turbo Tax stated it will be issuing an updated version on Feb 20 to include new questions regarding 1095-A (Obamacare) which is, as I understand it, why mine was held in pending for so long then rejected. I hope this information helps others on this thread.
My experience was that it taking longer than 48 hours meant it was going to be rejected if it didn't fall into a clear category that was going to be held (such as when you file in January before the IRS opens). Basically what I think goes on is that TT uses our rejected returns to figure out the errors in their coding and then eventually gets around to correcting them. It took me three submissions for acceptance. I changed absolutely nothing between the 2nd and 3rd try, but it was accepted the 3rd time b/c they fixed the bug on their side. When the third one went through, it processed within a few hours like it has every prior year.
Mine was pending from 1/17 till 1/27 when irs officially opened up filed with both credits and got accepted 1/27 mid day was put on path act till the 1/15 and finally had path act lifted waiting to get a DDD by friday or saturday maybe even my deposit i see people are already starting to get theres as for anyone here still waiting to be accepted idk what could be the hold up if u didnt file credits u should of already been accepted and i would call irs to make sure things are good last year i had to id verify and never would of known if i didnt call.
