Can't eFile 2019 amended tax return (1040x)

Mine has been accepted!

What was Accepted?  Your original return?  Then yes you can amend.  But you still can't efile a prior year amended return from Turbo Tax.  You have to print and mail it.

2020 was accepted then I realized this doing my new return that I didn’t claim a 401k withdrawal right this is why I want to amend

Sorry 2020 is a prior year.   You have to print and mail the amended return.  Looks like you can now amend 2020 online (as opposed to doing it in the Desktop program as in the past)

but you still have to mail it.  Your screen shot doesn't say you can efile it.

I’m sorry but turbo tax says it can efile the last three years does anyone know  anything turbo tax is awful

No, you cannot e-file a prior year federal amended tax return, it can only be printed and mailed. 

Only the current tax year federal amended tax return can be e-filed if the original 2021 tax return was e-filed.

Please provide a link to a TurboTax FAQ or current TurboTax article which states the prior year amended returns can be e-filed.

I just posted you a current TurboTax support FAQ which states -

For years prior to 2021, you'll need to print and mail your amended return. Follow these instructions to amend a prior-year return.

A 2020 amended tax return cannot be e-filed it can only be printed and mailed.

The problem still exist in 2022. I just tried to efile a 2020X amended return but a file date in 2022 is rejected by Turbotax. They need to fix this.

For years prior to 2021, you'll need to print and mail your amended return. Follow these instructions to amend a prior-year return.

Apparently could only amend in current year heard tax professionals could efile it turbo can’t

TT only allows the current year amendments to be efiled at this time ... all prior year returns must be mailed in unless you seek out a local professional preparer who can still efile them (for a fee of course).

To me few would be worth the efile rather than mail
